Anime or Manga?

Do you prefer reading the manga of a series, or watching it? With a lot of series the characters change a lot from the manga to the actual anime show. For me, i thought sailor moon as a manga was actually halfway good, but the anime had some bad/annoying voice acting and I just didn't get into it.

Maybe name a series or two that you prefer one way or the other.... I'm looking for new manga to read.
^_^

ciao

first anime and if i like it very much i read the amnga too, plus in manga u find things that aren't maybe in the anime

Both ^^ but I think I have manga more than anime.

Well, watching it seems better casue u really get to see whats happening , the emotions ,the skills the characters and its really colourful too at the same time reading the manga is just fine ^^

manga...graphics are generally better (generalisation only!) and the story tend to be a heck of a lot more indepth (eg, tsubasa)
Also, the story ending is as bad most of the time (eg- X/1999:adrupt ending) and the story is demetified to fit to TV size.

A few exceptions would be Ouran High Host Club (the anime is cuter) and Neon Gensis Evangelion (since the anime is in colour, i can acutually tell the eifference between the EVAs).

well if i can get both then that would be better...coz theres things in the manga that wasnt included in the anime and vice versa

Anime is almost completely different from the manga!
1) Almost all the bloody parts are censored
2) They skip important scenes from a chapter
3) They make up scenes
4) They change/make up lines
So the manga is better if you wanna see the real thing! After you read the manga, watch the anime, NOT the other way around!

both really. its kind of hard to decide. although mangas sometimes have more stuff than the anime. example love hina

Depends, I like my anime with lots of talking and my manga with more action (+good art) and less talk.

For comedy series, such as azumanga and hayate, i prefer anime. I usually stop after vol.1 for manga.

i like reading the manga more cause i could really feel the characters' feelings and the stories when i'm reading... but of course, it's not bad to actually see the characters on TV..

I perfur manga over tha anime soley becaus ethe art is always so much better. is so much detiled and in animes they cut parts out and switch thema nd everying to its just so unballenced.

Im the Anime Fan!
I dont know.. I like it better when the characters are moving O__o;
also the voices who make the character what he should be *-* *seiyuu addict*

I don't really like anime as it has changed the original story and character design.
Well......exceptational is when my fave seiyuu is acting in an anime and I will watch it no matter what it is. lol

Manga. It's easier on the eyes, and I can go at my own pace. Not to mention voice acting in any language grates my ears.

It depends. Usually the mangas are better than the animes (story-wise and character-wise), but the animes are more enjoyable because the characters move and you hear their voices and the sounds/music. Of course, I like the japanese voice actors the most, eng dubs are too horible for me. And I hate it when they change people's names. I also like german voice actors (and they leave original names), but japanese are still my favourite.

So i read the mangas & watch the animes, but in some cases one is much better than the other (usually the one that was created first (Gundam Seed anime, Gundam Wing anime, Vision of Escaflowne anime, RahXephon anime, Tenchi Muyou! animes, Princesss Tutu anime, Full Moon wo Sagashite manga, Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne manga, D.N.Angel manga, Magic Knight Rayearth manga, Sailor Moon manga, Kodomo no Omocha manga, Marmalade Boy manga, Tokyo Mew Mew manga, Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch manga...).

Sometimes I like both the manga & the anime even if they are made differently (Neon Genesis Evangelion, Pretear).

I prefer anime over manga, because im too lazy to read the mangas.

I have to say both, but I prefer certain series in manga (for example Hellsing) or anime versions (Wolf's Rain).

Exactly xD
its more entertaining then to read something as well

I think both anime and manga are good. That's depend. In some cases, the manga is successful while the anime is not very good (i.e.Samurai deeper Kyo, Angel Sanctuary, Death Note, etc). However, some of the anime I like better than the manga such as Ouran High School Host Club, Fullmetal Alchemist... Usually, for the shounen which content a lot of actions and complex drawing, the anime seems to be suitable. And there's one more advantage of anime : the music (vocals, soundtracks). It plays an important role in anime and I have to say that some anime are successful because of the sound.

the story in the anime and in the manga changes.
still, both are good in different ways.
