I have been buying more titles based on the previews I get in New Type. I have
recently gotten so involved with the characters in some of the stories that I
have found myself commenting out loud to the screen, as if I could give the
characters input. I guess, well, have you ever been to the movies and heard
someone yelling at the movie? I recently finished RahXephon and got so
frustrated with the two main characters that I actually blurted out, "just
tell him," (referencing the prior relationship Haruka and Ayato had had and
Ayato had forgotten). Also I started watching "Athento Soma," and
within two episodes yelled at the main character because of the way he was
treating his shy girlfriend. When I watched Maharomatic I was so involved I
actually shouted, "NO WAY," and stood up when she had her final fight.
The thing is that I have never done this with live action, at home or in a
theater. Well let me ask a question and make a point. Has anyone else gotten so
engrossed or involved in a story to start offering audible suggestions to the
characters as the anime is playing? How strange is that? Anyway, tell me if any
of you out there get like this and what stories did it for you?
Don't feel too bad, Bro--I have said things to the characters in anime as well
and I NEVER do that with anything else.
I think its the fact that in anime there is always an unrequited love and/or a
seriously sympathetic character that you really identify with.
My most vocal episodes were due to:
1. ELFIN LIED-they get you to love the 'villain' so so don't want her to get
killled.
2. MAHORAMATIC
3. WOLF'S RAIN--theres a lot of miscommunications in that one.
4. PARADISE KISS--there's a weird twist in there that comes near the end.
5. PARANOID AGENT--out of sheer confusion!
6. MADLAX--there's a sad death in this one!
So keep up the outbursrts. It means that the stories are involving and great
stories are becoming extremely rare!
Hontou wa zen zen kettai... that is seriously bizzare. But seriously, as long as
you don't do this in public or when there's people around then I'm sure it
wouldn't really matter. ^_^
I don't think it's strange, sometimes I do that too, so does my sister. Mostly I
just say things like, "That is so stupid" referring to what the
characters are doing or making a comment on characters.
aw dude that just means ur a true otaku! ;3; !but i do it with everything like
anime,the hills , greys anamoty etc. some times i dont no im doing but my pals
say im over dramatic, i usally ask them how i was! but i cant help it if the
shows exiciting! its not any diff from football games & concerts. i can
guess that mostly everyone does this but who noes maybe im totally wrong
I guess im an otaku too. i yell at the screen a lot. especially during GANTZ, i
yelled a lot " KICK HIS @$$", and when two of the main chracters died
with like 5 more eps to the end, i yelled "BULL $#&@" a lot and at
the end when the last character died, i yelled "MOTHER F$%#ER! BULL
$#&@" for like 5 minutes staight. it happens a lot.
(to anyone who hasn't seen GANTZ and i spoiled it, gomen)
Well, I cheer for Black Cat and Raito. I helled at .HACK because of how
pointless the plot was. And I constantly commentate on Gundam Seed and Gundam
Seed Destiny. Why can't all the characters realize they are emo and make peace
by painting each others' nails black together?
When Im watching normal tv, I might say something here and there, but its not
really because Im so into the show. But then when Im watching anime, if Im
really into it, I'll start saying things out loud on accident. Just last night
when I was watching Code Geass, something happened between the main character
and the girl he was talking to and she began to run away so I yelled to the guy,
"What are you doing?! Grab her!"
I think its just a sure sign that you are really into what you're watching and
having fun =)
well those people who created the anime/manga should be pleased they've drawn
you into the anime that much, it's a good sign, keep enjoying, I do that too, I
forget my whole existence and focus on the anime and shout out unknowingly, just
be careful not to explode near the good parts if you're watching with someone
else. lol.
Oh well, i do this since i was little even at the movie,that's way some of my
friend don't like to watch movies or other stuff with me ,i'm always saing
something and at the anime...wow i can't keep my mouth shut

home. Yesterday when I was watching D. Gray-man episode 29 on youtube I was

Yeesh, as long as you aren't doing this in the theaters, I could care less.

It's not that strange , I've done it with Code Geass, Gundam Seed and other animes, and in several mangas like I''s , Berserk and Monster.
Wow, reminds me of the State Theater way back when. But then, that was a requirement then.
