Quote: The slender silhouette of
the princess Zelda stood outside in the balcony of the castle, leaning against
the barriers that outlined the terrace. Her slim, fragile-like body was covered
by a silky white gown, while her hair was left down, neither crown nor tiara
holding them back. In this dead of night, a soft breeze blew, playing with the
princess' flaxen hair. The trees swayed in harmony, the river running around the
castle gently flowed, while the full moon, sitting high in the sky, glistened
brightly, lighting the land below it. It was like a Garden of Eden; everything
was so calm, so serene, so peaceful and beautiful.
Yet, in this sublime beauty and utmost serenity, why did Zelda feel so
disquieted, so worried?
An inexplicable anxiety weighed upon her heart. Zelda shivered, and rubbed her
arms as if to warm herself, even though it wasn't the night's gentle wind that
made her feeling cold. Though she hadn't seen any prophetic dreams, she had a
feeling that something was wrong, a feeling that had no proof. Everything seemed
normal around her... maybe even too normal.
The princess looked up at the sky, and gazed at the moon. If something were to
happen at this moment, there was no one she could rely on but herself. No hero
could come out of the blue and save the day. Said hero might not even be alive.
It was only her and her abilities. She shook her head, and told herself it would
be alright. She spun around and made her way back to the castle. What Zelda
didn't know of was that, below the balcony, at the garden, a guard, who was on
patrol, stood motionless, his face and body disintegrating, his soul no longer
in his body. He was lifeless and his body was decaying too fast.
The young noblewoman walked back into her room, where the light of the moon did
not penetrate. Just when she sat on her bed, she thought she heard a loud thud.
Zelda froze, before looking towards the source of the sound. It came from
outside her door. With a heart that was beating faster by the second, she slowly
got up, and cautiously approached the door. Silence. She heard nothing. Placing
the hand on the doorknob, she turned it, and paused. Zelda took a deep breath,
and flung the door open, only to find a guard falling at her feet.
A guard who had a decaying face and soulless eyes.
The young princess' mind raced. Her doubts and fears had been confirmed. Danger
did threaten Hyrule, and no one could save the Castle from the disaster that was
going to befall it now. Zelda turned around, but suddenly stopped.
"No", she heard herself uttering, surprised, as if someone took
control of her and spoke up.
"No", she repeated, in a voice that was more assured of
herself,"I'm not running away."
Quickly grabbing an object from the closet, Zelda ran out of the room. No one
was in her way; everything was as silent as the dead. It was as if life had
disappeared from the castle. Could she be too late to save her own land...?
But the princess had no time to sit and ponder of what was happening. She clung
onto a sliver of hope, and made her way towards the main part of the castle.
But, just when she reached the stairs leading to the main hall of the castle,
she stopped dead in her tracks.
Moblins, everywhere. Creatures crawling around in the castle, entering from the
main door. Some soldiers tried pushing them back, fighting them, killing them;
others fell. In this chaos, it seemed almost impossible for the princess Zelda
to reach her destination. If only...
If only she could reach the statue depicting the Hero of Time.
Zelda cautiously began walking to the statue, attentively looking around to make
sure no one would attack her. At times, she would pause, as to not be noticed,
before continuing her way to the statue. Finally, when she got to it, she
silently drew out the object she had taken before leaving her room; a blue-grey
instrument, called ocarina, with a symbol on it, the Triforce, which was also
present on the statue. Playing as low as possible, the princess played a melody,
a tune which was passed down from generation to the next one, a song which only
members of the royal family knew of. The Triforce that was on the sculpture
glowed softly, before it made a rumbling noise, as it started moving. This made
Zelda anxious, as the enemies could get alerted, which was what she had
discovered upon turning around. A moblin had noticed her near the statue, and
began charging at her. Barely had the statue began moving that a passageway
could be seen underneath it, and the princess tried squeezing herself through,
before the moblin got the chance to attack her. The passageway would close again
soon, and Zelda would have got what she was looking for to protect her.
Once inside, Zelda felt calmer, more secure. She continued her way down the
stairs, until she reached a circular room, with glass pictures portraying the
Seven Sages. And, in the middle, was a platform, with a Triforce carved in the
middle of it. Zelda walked to the platform, and stood in the middle. Taking out
her ocarina, she played the melody once more, this time in a more confident
manner. Suddenly, a blinding light surrounded her. When the light slowly dimmed,
the heiress found right in front of her the item she had been looking for; a
grand sword placed in an altar, its blade glistening like the stars, and its
hilt a metallic blue, with a golden Triforce carved into it. Zelda putted her
hands onto the hilt, and began pulling. The sword came out easily, and it was
lighter than the princess expected. Nevertheless, it was still heavy for her, as
she never wielded any weapon in the past. However, this time, she wasn't going
to hide and wait to be rescued. Holding the sword in both hands, she raised it,
and turned around - in time to see two massive moblins marching towards her.
Zelda faced them, sword raised, her hands shaking. The moblins were getting
closer and closer. They had such hideous forms, such a disgusting appearance,
and they seemed to be very strong. They both wielded a lance, which they had
both raised at the same time and thrusted at the princess. Zelda's blue eyes
opened wide in alertness, as she saw two sharp blades rushing at her faster than
arrows...
"What the?!?!"
Tetra, having tossed and turned all night, ended up falling off the bed. It was
just a dream. She sat up, and shook her head hard, as if to let it out of her
head. It was more like a nightmare, and one of the weirdest ones, too. However,
Tetra felt confused; she looked up at the picture of the Triforce on the wall,
and wondered what the meanings of this symbol and of her dream
were...

congrats to the winner ^_^
Trust me, I shouldn't have won (and wouldn't have, had there been other contestants).
