Okay here the thing... Everytime I am playing CS:SOURCE with headphones, so that I don't disturb my family members, this weirds noises comes out of nowhere quietly... I'm like "what the FXXK is this?". So I turned up the volume to ignore it.
But after I finished playing CS:SOURCE and putting downing the volume to zero (but on) again, I started to hear those noises again... At first I thought "IT'S THE VOICE FROM GOD!|" then I came senses and realized God wouldn't send me a devine voice. So I listened to it very closely.... It was actually two person having a conversation in some radio station! Yes, you read it right! I was receiving signals! Now I am no expert in electronics so I had no idea wtf is going on.
Can anybody tell me what the hell is going on here? As to how this is possible?
btw, I live in Toronto, ON

P.S. These are the few words I heard from the radio station:

March 21, 2007

At 9:49 PM - Sleep Mattress Canada~ Why buy a mattress anywhere else? (Commercial)

At 9:54 PM - Dixie Chicks (female talking)

At 9:58 PM - I was once lived through... (Part of a song)

It's 10:05 PM right now and I am not hearing them talk anymore.....

Well, I know that even if i'm not playing anything, my speakers pick up waves from my mobile phone. It's a bit like those older computer screens going insane when you're about to receive a phone call, but I hear that annoying "beep beep beep beep beep beep" noise and I know I'm about to receive a message.

If it's like that with mobile phones and speakers (happens with televisions, too), then I'm not quite surprised that radio frequencies can also be picked up.

But like you, I'm just wondering... why o.o?!

I'm guessing only though that maybe the speakers pick up the waves and the waves vibrate in a certain way (due to frequency, wavelengths) and then transmit this information as sound like any normal speaker. I guess the only difference is that perhaps the speaker is now having a radio or whatever as a source, rather than the computer telling it what to output.

It's likely one of your cables is acting as an antenna, picking up the radio and passing that through the speakers. I had a similar thing happen with a tv I used to own.

eeek creepy, if i were u, i would jes shut the thing off n be gone!
lol
nah, somethin to do with the waves n stuff i think

My speakers, and my friends speakers (he has the same setup as me); when they're on but the volume is down, we both get local radio crystal clear. Saves going over and turning on the radio lol. The higher we turn up the volume, the quieter it gets. ANTI VOLUME FTW! ^_^

my friend was speaker of radio by Internet from his house^^
