Hello there, one of the main reasons I joined this site is because I wanted to
have some good scans for an anime-themed website. A personal website for me with
a RahXephon theme. There are a lot of places that you can get a premade layout
(like on http://www.komettails.net/ ),
but I'd rather not use them, because I want to be proud at my own website. I
have a website right now but I'd rather not show it to you guys because I'm
rather embarassed about it :$.
There are a lot of tutorials about how to make a website, but I haven't found
(a) (complete) tutorial(s) about how to make an *anime* layout/website. When I
see those layout from komettails, they are absolutely gorgeous. But I can't find
anyplace to teach me how to make something like that...
Hello there~! I guess an anime website like many other websites, it requires
creative thinking and design skills. Using webiste construction lanaguage or
software as a foundation. I know it's easy to say it, doing it might be an
entirely different story, but I guess if you really like anime, the fun lies in
the process of making a good anime website. Good luck! Hope to see your anime
website soon! ^.^ ^o^ ^0^!
I have my idea for the layout a bit planned out, but on an anime themed website
there are lots of small little details that add up a lot of beauty to the
website. A website with a good header (a big image at the top of the website)
does not make a good website yet, there are a lot of decorations around the text
and stuff. Those decorations are the key on making a good anime website. I am
searching for a website that explains all the theory and guide me through making
a complete anime themed site. Watching a lot of examples is not enough I
guess.
But the most important character quality that helps the most in wallpaper making
AND website making, is creativity.
Well I guess there are a couple of ways to go about making a site for me I
usually go two different ways.
1) Make the site by how the layout looks, I usually make the layout first before
the site that way I'll have to code it a certain way usually this path is bad
because on the layout some of it is positioned all wrong and has to be
re-edit.
2) Plan what you want on your site (i.e. ad banner, navigation, huge image
header, body and news area etc.) This way your layout will be based on how you
need the site to look. If you need help with Website building drop me a line on
aim XHell NinjaX.
I would learn the basics of HTML code with a book (I just went to borders and
bought one when i was back in the 5th grade). it's not too difficult to learn.
After that, just get creative and do what you like ^_^
Or, you can use a web design tool like Dreamweaver.
I wouldn't worry so much about what other people do - just do what you wanna do.
and keep practicing and you'll be a pro
I do not know how to code with html, but I am able to use Dreamweaver
effectively, and understand the code thats written by it. I don't really need to
learn how to make a website, I need to learn how to make an *anime* website. How
do people do it?
hmmmmmmmmm I guess there is no official help on making an anime website
anywhere.... I'll guess I have to use my own imagination. It would have been
helpful if I've gotten guidelines.
The principles used to make an anime website are exactly the same as the ones
used to make a corporate website. As a professional web developer, I can tell
you that you have to be a combination artist and programmer to create a decent
site.
Learn html, PHP, and MySQL. Learn Flash. Learn color theory, composition, and
interface design. Learn how to do a usability study.
Few people understand that a good site involves hundreds of little details. They
just think that if they put some cool pictures and some text on a site, they
have a "professional design." This is not the case. Learn what I
mentioned above, THEN try to make a site.

The best tip I can give you...
Is when making the layout, think of it as making a wallpaper. Just leave room for content, and a little spot for navigation.
If you want only a banner, then think of it as making a signature for a forum.
There really is no difference between an anime layout vs. a regular layout. Just a matter of changing what the graphics are.

What Manaxis said is actually a helpful reply. I guess anime-themed websites have a bigger emphasis on the 'art' side than the 'programmer' side.
