Well it was my 1st wallie. But it might've been too simple.
And even though I tried hard to clean it up, the scan is still deemed as bad quality. XP
Made me kinda upset, but it was my 1st time. Somehow I figured that this would happen
but I wanted to try anyway.

3 people added it to favs and 1 commented before it was taken down. :nya: (made me happy)
Thank you to them! >_< MANY MANY MANY THANK YOU'S!
But I want to try to improve on the scan so I can host it back up again.
Can anyone give me some advice or a little help, yeah?

The information I was given was
1) I need to put my signature somewhere on the wallie.
2) The scan is bad. (I did what I could with it. Does anyone have any techniques I can use
to make it better?)

~ MUCH APPRECIATED!

It'll be purged on June 21st permanently. >.<

EDIT:

Sadly, I do not know how to stop a wallie from being purged, yeah! XD

So I merely re-entered the wallie and slightly changed the title!
YES! It'd finally finished!
Thx everyone for your help! <3

Spread Like Shooting Stars - REMADE!! by selemental

Well, if the scan is bad you can always try cleaning it (zoom in and very carefully smudge it so the colours are smooth) or check out the scan cleaning tutorial at IManimetions (under Affiliates on the left menu).

If the outlines are pixellated (if you're using an enlarged scan or poorly printed scan that is then scanned...), you might have to vector or retrace the image- or find a very good quality one to begin with.

In your case, it looks like you filtered the scan a bit so the outlines look not very high quality.
Try not to ever filter a scan, unless you're using the blur and median filters on a duplicate layer of the original scan and setting it to overlay, color burn etc whatever fits your fancy and looks good :)
The filters outside the scan (looks like a motion blur) doesn't seem quite necessary- everything you do to a scan or a background should contribute to an idea or to the scan.

As for the background, I must say it's a bit generic- the brushes you have used are all default brushes, and the stars you have used haven't even been changed in size- they are all the same size, colour and you haven't rotated some of them to at least give it some sense of dynamism.

The gradient of the sky should be bluer at the top and whiter blue down the bottom (you can do this by painting the horizon line a light blue and then going to filter> gaussian blur> as much as needed to blend it in)

The text can be moved up a little bit (preferably above the grass).

I guess another thing to consider is, "is there a different background I can make for this"? The approach is somewhat generic~ maybe re-imagining the wallpaper might give you more hints of what to do with the stars and colours? I dunno, just giving you some food for thought.

Apart from that though, I think the quality of everything in this is pretty good (even your scan, though I suspect you filtered it in some way). :D

I hope that was of some help~ keep up the good work! :D

Yeah, the outlines of the scan are all crazy. Since the scan itself is really cute and looks like vector material, you can vector it. Here's an easy tutorial for vectoring, or you can search "Vector tutorial" at deviantART.
Like Misa said, the motion filter effect on the scan is unnecessary, so I wouldn't use that in the future.
The grass is also unneeded. The other aspects of the background seem alright, and with what you've got going on with those stars and whatnot, I suggest trying something like this (though not exactly like that, ya feel?) These are just suggestions of course ^^

awww~! thats so adorable~! first try at a wallie? not bad :3 dont be upset~! i see wallies deleted all the time O_O even though they're not the author's first go

but as Misa and Chloe said - the outlines could be cleaned up a little - but other than that - i congratulate yoo~ :) this was really good for a first go

i thought that wallies in the sandbox couldnt be purged? O_O

i can tell adobe photoshop was used in this one XD keep up the good work~! i like to see your submissions :)

xD Yayyy! Thank you for all your help & comments everyone!
I just got a new vision from all the comments you three gave me, yeah!
I'm gonna do my better-than-best on it, yeah!
Then, it'll look WAYY better than it does noe! Might take me a tad bit of time, but I
got a few ideas that might come in handy yeah! I'm sure I can get it done
before the deadline, yeah!

And thanks again for your uber encouragement, Yukiyo! You gave me ENERGY! XD

THANKIES! *goes to work ASAP*

The anime character is Adorable XD
The background maybe can change to a garden with her/his friends XD
I think that will be sweet XD

XD It's a her! o_O Don't you see the skirt, yeah?

LOL XD Thanks for the help!
I'm already almost done and there isn't enough space to fit anyone else in it. O_O;

XD I kept it park, but WELL you'll just have to see it for yourself! I wanted to keep it
cartoony, but I got carried away! MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!
Oh but good news! The scan has improved immensely and I believe it'll be accepted!
I just hope I remember to add my signature, yeah! XD
