No anime is allowed I mean ASAIN MOVIES SUCH AS Moon Child,House of Flying Daggers,Hero etc.
Mine is Moon child.

Hello supo, how you're doing?

Well well well. I've lately left aside anime since I'm no longer interested on it to follow my real pasion. Movies.

Sadly, I'm not into the asian movies that far as for to decide which one suits best my likings.

The only one I could think of right now is "crouching tiger, hidden dragon".

Even when the producers are american people, "Kill Bill vol. 1" has amazing japanese influence.

Hope my reply tells you something for I'm afraid asian cinematography is not as well distrubuted as american and european studios does.

Interesting topic, but isn't this the "General Anime and Manga" section? There are other sections specifically for non-anime movies.

I liked Hero (American dub was utterly pathtic) and Infernal Affairs (American remake "The Departed" was good but ultimately inferior plot-wise).

"My Sassy Girl" is one of the best, and funniest movies I have ever seen. I think some people might look at it as a 'chick flick" but I still liked it and recommend it to everyone.

Gen-X-Cops and the sequal Gen-Y-Cops, Battle Royale, Drift 1-3, Dragon Reloaded, Seoul Raiders, Honesty, Royal Tramp, God of Gamblers 1-3... ok, I have alot of favourite 'asian' movies.

kung fu hustle? =)

Jackie chan movies even the old school ones which r asian :P

Hero, Kung-fu Hustle, Shoulin soccer,etc
and there are loads more....
I love My Sassy Girl, My Tutor Friend too...^^

I liked Moon Child ..

Mine is most definitely Hero. I haven't been able to find another Chinese movie of the same calibur.

Memoirs of a Geisha. Actress Gong Li is awesome.

hmm...by asian...do you mean east asian?! unfortunately i dont watch east asian...i watch south asian...as in Indian movies...if you include that too, I would say my fav is Krrish.

Ong-Bak had some amazing action. I'd love to see the sequel when I can.

Juon XD That count? I really love the television series My Lovely Sam-Soon and Emperor of the Sea (that's an AWESOME show, you guys!) I think they're Korean but... I'm not really sure? ^_^'

Odoru Daisousasen. XD <3 Oda Yuji and Fukatsu Eri and Ikariya Chousuke =)

Awesome thread idea, since I am a huge martil art movie along with anime. Sorry but there is no way to choose one. I like Iron Monkey, The Legend, The Legend 2, Legend of the Swordsman, Last Samurai (not directly asian but none the less great depiction of samurai culture in my opinion). Hero, Shoalin Soccer, Kung Fu-Hustle, Enter the Dragon, and a bunch more. I love those old samurai movies that are made sometime in the 60's to 80's. If anyone knows the name of some please tell me I can never find ne nemore.

i go for GTO live
it's really great
although they made a lot of changes from the original GTO anime

It depends.. Do you mean Asian Movies produced in Hollywood or the ones that were produced here in our countries?

If its the Hollywood version I would go with Memoirs. Not that good of an interpretation of the book, but its still good :)

And for the ones produced back here, hmm.. I would have to say Akira Kurosawa's Films (e.g. The Seven Samurai etc). Though its actually hard to get a copy of them.. >.<

that would be memoirs of a geisha. tha story is not that good, but I absolutely love the landscape and the costumes xD
I think I haven't seen any other asian movie that far...... :-s

My favorite Asian movies include Jackie Chan movies and Flying Tiger Crouching Dragon,

Asean movies were make me feel inspire since my youth. I do like my favorite "My Wife is a Gangster."

hmmm ill just say what comes to mind.............
gen x cops =)
and....... a man called hero =)
third...... sky riders ( i think thats what its called.. haven't touched it in so long )

Fulltime Killer!
That's my fav... so far.

A Chinese Ghost Story (I like all three movies but my favourite one is the first movie)
