I am working on a panda wallpaper..... so far I have inserted him and the rice
bowl into the background, and added shadowing to both. I altered the background
with a slight blur for artistic effect. I also altered the lighting to give it a
more bore before dusk feel then the bright day light it previously had. I added
lil fireflies and a butterfly on the chopstick of the rice bow for fun. The
lines on the top and right side are a mymic of basic japanese design and they
are patterned to look like peices of wood. Lastly I placed 3 Chinese Characters
(Health/Wealth/Longevity) on the right had side and gave them a slight glow to
help them stand out a lil bit more.
The basis for this design is a simple clean chinese design with a cute lil
panda...lol.
Please leave any positive critiquing you may have.
I really like it! The only thing I noticed when I full viewed was that the panda
looked very cut out from the background. Like, the panda's edges were too solid
and not very soft. Try softening the outline of the panda to make it blend in a
little better.
Just a suggestion though.
Other than that, it's adorable. I saved it to my computer! <3
I agree with nightmainyes-san,the panda looks out of place..but the background
is nice! And is so kawaii! Hope to see on MT,I want to make it to my pc
wall..kawaii!
Because you picked a rice bowl, I think an interior would've fitted better. You
can't just find a rice bowl in the middle of the forest, can't you? Aside from
that, blend the edges of the panda and the bowl and it's gonna be perfect!
Ok I worked on it and made some changes.....First I tried sofening the pandas
edges by giving it a slight blur.. if anyone knows another way please let me
know... im still learning Photoshop. Second I took the suggestion of removing
the rice bowl... yea I know you wouldnt find a bowl of rice sitting in the
middle of the forest... that was kinda the joke..lol. So instead I made it so
he's stalking two butterflies. The butterflies also helped to give it some more
color other than green, white, and black; which priincess suggested it needed. I
dont want too much color or it might get away with the mellow/calming effect I
want it to have. Ok so heres the new version.... tell me what you think... oh
and please tell me if you perfer it with or without the rice bowl. Thanx again!
It so much better when softer now! ^.^
I suggest you add some more shadows lightly though since when you soften, you
lose that part. The butterflies stand out alot. you might wanna try creating a
copied layer of them to work on. I was thinking of a glowy effect on the
butterfly cos the whole image seems a mix of surreal and real to me (:

PS: will you mind if I use the image and link you back if I post it on the net?
I'll probably be using for desktop though. I hope u can make it into a wall.
Ah yes. Now THAT looks so much better! The panda actually looks like it's meant
to be there now. And the butterflies add a nice touch. Hey, if you want some
tips with photoshop, you can always send me a message and I can help you out.
Or, I can at least try. Also, I have a bunch of bookmarks on my browser for
photoshop tutorial sites.
Overall, I really like the wallpaper now. That panda is adorable! Hope to see
other great wallpapers by you in the future~ I also really like the scenery
around the panda, it looks very clean and simple, yet detailed at the same
time.
Also, if I may ask, where did you find that little panda picture? Was it from an
anime?
Ok I have one last version... I mad a slight alteration to the butterflies in
reply to ootbruli suggestion. I gave the butterflies a lil glow and gave them a
"magical dust" trail which is also glowing. It kinda gives the
wallpaper a slightly more fantasy feel to it. tell me if you guys like it more.
Thank you!
i think the bamboo arching over the path would leave a shadow on the ground. I
think it would be better if you used real colored butterflies than the pink and
blue.
THANK YOU everyone who helped me make this wallpaper. It has now been officially
posted. I hope it gets accepted! If you like it please fav it! Thanx again!
Enjoy!
