The riddle is very broad and loose ended. I'll give it a "shot".
- He saw something on the t.v. that made him feel depressed. So when he came back to his house (probalbly a house he hated), he killed himself.
- Another option would be that he didn't actually kill himself. He just sat down and drank some more.
