I just wanna know what yall think bout religious people and if you think some are hypocritical.
Me, i think some are. They say that they accept you no matter what and all that but i had some christian friends they would talk about how they accept people for who they are and all that. But when they figured out i was atheist, they went beserk. They kept trying to convert me but i wouldnt so they finally quit talking to me. So there ya have it. My opinion.

Any body and every body no matter what religion are welcome to this poll!

I think that some of them are hypocritical. First, they claim that they can accept whatever others believe in, then they try to convince you that their religion is the one true religion, and that everything else is crap. I'm just speaking from experience, it may or may not be true, so don't start bashing me for that. (not referring to the thread creator ^_^')

Im not gonna bash anyone for there opinions. I respect everyones opinion(unless they are just plain rude about it!)

I think religion has nothing to do with it. People can be hypocrites over many things, not just religion. The human race is diverse, coming with the good and the bad.

I wouldn't say many religious people are hypocrites though, because that sounds too much like basing the whole issue solely on religious people. Religion doesn't make people hypocrites - it's just sometimes part of the situation.

I agree with fatal for once.People can be hypocrites about many things but shouldnt be based on religion.

All i was saying is that some people are hypocritic when it comes TO religion.

like who?

I think most people are hypocritical when it comes to religion (and not just one in particular but almost all of them). After all how many people do you know have said they believe and then do something contrary to that stated belief (I include a great many politicians and "religious leaders" in this group as well)? I personally need a calculator to figure that number out. Been hypocritical myself before, not particularly proud of it but it has happened and there are no guarantees it won't happen again.

Pat Robertson for starters.

Who is Pat Robertson? like the people at the church i went to and my ex friends.

you should've had an option similar to "some" or "just as much as everyone else"

everyone is a hypocrite (or almost everyone) at some point. Whether it's saying "I hate it when people cut me off, they are jerks and shouldn't be allowed to drive" but then do it and just say "sorry" and think "it's not that big of a deal." or something along those lines.

Other times parents will say "dont do this or that" but they do it anyways, or claim "they know better". It is only natural that humans, will bring that with them into religions.

I don't think saying "i think people should be allowed to believe whatever they want" and then saying "my religion is the only true religion" is hypocritical, so make sure you're not confusing the idea of like narrow mindedness or something like that.

I'm a Christian, and in general I am kind of annoyed when people blame "religion" when most of ANY flaw within a religion stems from the PEOPLE who practice the religion rather than the basis of the religion itself. Whether it be extremists saying we should exterminate people not like us even just hypocrites. It is not necessarily the religion (though this is definitely arguable) that makes them this way, but rather we NOTICE it because we "expect" them to be "holy" or "different'.... even though everyone is really just watching them and waiting for them to screw up so they can say "see everyone who says they are religious does this or that".

Just my thoughts

You didnt hafta be so mean... i am asking u nicely not to be rude...its just me asking questions...if u get offended by what i say, im sorry. Its just my opinion. And i dont cut people off. But i respect your opinion(even if you dont respect mine).

Hey calm down people, faffy was just asking if religious people are hypocritical about their religion, not that the religion itself is hypocritical.

Thanks, that is exactly what i meant.

some people have the tendency to be. even some political leaders in my country. *cough*aziz*cough*
He acts like he's really religious, and does all kinds of amazingly...wasted...things instead of concentrating on the amount of drug addicts and the crime rate.
did i mention that he's a sexist?

who is aziz? What country? That just goes to show that discrimination is EVERYWHERE... but that goes without saying of course.

Quote by Faffy09who is aziz? What country? That just goes to show that discrimination is EVERYWHERE... but that goes without saying of course.

A politician from our country, Malaysia >.<
Yep, discrimination occurs everywhere, to anyone of any race or religion.

Oh...

I think pretty much everyone is hypocritical at least occasionally by nature, and it's just easier to see that when religion comes into play. Or worse, we look for it when religion comes into play because for a large amount of people out there, either a religion besides their own is bad or any religion at all is. So I voted Most.

OK! Now that is an answer! Hopefully more people will come and throw their opinions into the metephorical hat.

Pat Robertson is widely know christian preacher who has said that we should kill certian people like homosexuals, and a man named Hugo Chavez. The bible says "thou shall not kill" in it. Almost every evangelist amercian would know who he is and would normally respect him.

well i guess that proves that nobody is perfect.

I guess majority is hypocritic, I have many reasons for that,I had seen more hipocritics than true people, some is for their own sake,or something,is rare someone really devote not thinking just of himself but others too.
However I follow on my own way not the religion, but christianism on my own way.

Many people are...

My mom say she respect other religion...but when I declare myself irreligious...she gone mad...
