Has anyone ever had to make an art portfolio for a film animation or just an animation program?
If so any information on like the number of drawings, the variety of drawings, sketches, colors, sizes, types of drawings needed would be much appreciated.

Uh....I still don't quite get what you're trying to say in your first sentence. O_o

If you mean an art portfolio for College/University, from what I've heard, you need about 15~20 pieces of work. They don't have to be of a wide variety of types of drawing. It's better to focus more on your best works, since I think they want to see a consistance level of skill, rather than how many types of drawings you can do...

Hope that helps. ^_^'

I can only answer for fine arts, in which case I submitted about twenty slides of artwork, mostly drawn from life, as it's something they really look for. Being able to draw from observation is a very important skill.

try to add your most recent works, which can be of any type, also try to add to each piece a short description on how did you create them, that normally gives you good points.
