My comp went into the shop recentley and when It came back I found that I
couldn't transfer my Ipod music back to it. I understand why apple wouldn't want
you to be able to send you library to every computer But I want to to be able to
upload and download at my whim. I see plenty of advertisment for programs that
do just that on the net but I don't want to give out my money to a company or
download a virus. I don't mind payig so could someone tell me a program that I
can get that's not a virus or a scam so I can get my music back to my comp?
you know there's another way you can get your iPod music back to your PC without
using any program, becoz what happened was i normally like exploring stuff so
basically i found this out (where the music files lie ), when u plugin your iPod to the PC(of cos have the program which recognizes
that your iPod is connected)
go to My Computer, and right click on your iPod icon, click Explore, then a list
of files will appear, errmmm...i can't exactly rmbr the list of the name of the
files but there is Photos, Music, Contacts, etc... or i think one of the
files contains Music, click on Music, then a list of other files with numbers
will appear, in those files with those numbers, there is your music inside but
the songs r in numbers too(duh~iPod understandable format) BUT~ if
u actually wait the names of the songs will appear under the numbers in a
lighter color(gray). yupz~
I don't even store my music on my computer so itunes doesn't have the
music...but the hardest thing you must remember is that when you "rip"
the music off your ipod, if you haven't already, it will corrupt it and you have
to restore the ipod, I learned that the hard way, but it does no damage to it,
it merely resets the ipod and then whatever settings you have made the ipod to
do you have to "tell" it to do them again but other then that toya's
method works just find
correctomundo. and videos can be recovered too. just use copy and paste, to copy
the music off of your pod. but, i suggest, the best thing to do is keep your
music backed up on cd or dvd so you can copy over anytime. plus, it'll save some
hard disk space
although if you are going to store things on disk it would be wise to either use
rewritable disks or if you're going to burn just disk that you can't erase it
off the disk later then make certain it's something that you are going to use in
the future, because just one time burning wastes disks, I don't know about money
wise and the likes but that just's a suggestion
