what type of anime do you perfer. it is the long running one's like Naruto, bleach, one pieace, etc. or short ones like berserk, x, fafner, blood+, etc.?

I do like long running series that dont get of base, but i perfer the short animes that are from 25 to 50 eps. with those you get great stroy line instead of a long borning stroy.

Keep it short and simple - yeah. Even 40 episodes gets a little long for me, unless it's totally action packed.

For example, a good storyline might not just do it for me.
Take Slam Dunk for instance. I think the story line is great and so are the characters and art, but when my dad goes overseas, he sees Slam Dunk on television. He comes back. A year later he flies back, comes back and says to me, "they're still playing basketball on TV..."

... he doesn't really watch anime, so that's saying something X-P

I think I'd prefer short ones, with at least 24 episodes, and at most 60 episodes. But that really depends. If the longs one are really good (decent story developement, full of action, brilliant animation, still much more to be expected, keeps the audience curious, etc...), I won't mind it usually. Otherwise, I'd try to keep it short. Concise, and gets a couple of good points/messages to the audience, and that's plentifully good. Like Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha, the ending was excellent. Love that quote by Nanoha about friends. <3 (Although that was only 13 episodes. XD But I still like it.) However, the short ones must satisfy the audience (or at least have a good conclusion/ending), 'cause else, it's just like an unfinished story. >_< I wasn't quite that satisfied with the ending of Rozen Maiden. They didn't star Kirakishou at all but about 5 seconds. I still liked the story though, so I guess that makes up for it. XD

There isnt many anime that i wont watch.
Really my preference of genre changes with my mood.

My preference is kinda broad. I prefer action/adventure anime's with awsome fight scenes, a dash of romance, and plently of comic relief. Also they shouldn't keep going just for the sake of continuing the show. Once the original storyline is completed it should end.

Well,I don't mind long or short. But it must have great art and unique storyline(The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi & ARIA).Aaand,it must not have a bad ending!

i kind of have mixed feelings when posting this post. i dont like anime which are draggy and dont give an ending, eg Inuyasha. i like Inuyasha but there is no ending to the anime. so it kinda gets idiotic. but if it is short, then i would hope that the anime does not finish. i feel Nanoha is too fast paced. like the anime but i find that its too short. kinda like its gone in a flash. all in all i really have no idea what i want too.=P

I love animes with all mixed up,comedy,mystery,romance,action,supernatur(...) more importantly must have a good story, and the development of the story must not be very slow.

For me,long run or short run it doesnt matter^^i prefer both of them

I like both short and long anime and both of them have a couple of great ones still, I'm more into long anime cause well I can't never get enough. XD But long animes like Naruto are a problem for those who were not able to catch them from the beginning (lucky me I haven't missed a single one.) Animes that are way too short as well, they have a poor story or an awesome story but a poor ending (not all of them of course.)
Anyway as long as it's anime I don't mind if I have to spend my whole life on it or if it's just a couple of hours. ^_^

I do not look so much about the number of episodes. As long the story is not so boring, still has logic, is not the same like the previous season before, I do not care if the series has 100 or 200 episodes.

anime animated by pure 3d like FF7:AC, stunning visuals in the characters, environment, action; in a long term screening like 26 episodes & above.

Short anime of about twenty plus episodes. Maximum 50. Romance, War, Comedy.

I prefer the shorter, because I've learned the longer it becomes the more likelyhood that the creator/s are going to run into trying to create another plot to run into the missing scenes and the likes...I like, genre style, horror, hentai ^_^, scifi, thriller, and action (love action)

I love all anime. XD

for me it depends on if its good or not

I prefer something between 20-50 episodes. Any less and it's over way too soon (like Sola. God I love that anime). Anything more and I just end up getting bored with the concept and drop it after a while (like Bleach. It was great at first, but it slowly became repetitive).

I like comedy/romance anime coz it's really entertain for me ^__^ . Adventure and action anime are my favorite type too

I like sci-fic + action + adventure + comedy + a bit of romance :)

But most of all, I like an anime that has a good plot, otherwise even the above description cannot help attracting me. I like everything well planned and organized in anime. Fullmetal Alchemist, and Blood+ so far have scored a lot from me in terms of plot.

I don't mind how long it is (although I prefer under 100 eps just to save my poor wallet) as long as it's good quality. I'd take 12 good episodes over 120 bad ones, any day. Repitition, fillers, huge problem. Same goes for animation - I can't stand it when shows take sudden animation dips during filler arcs. It's a huge put-off.

As for genre, I'm pretty open to anything. As long as the main characters are likeable and the plot has a bit of substance, I can get into things pretty easily. I find it really tough to get into a series if I don't like the main character, though, no matter how good the rest of it is.

I guess I like fantasy, comedy, or both. Maybe a little sci-fic

I rather watch short ones rather than long ones. But every time I watch a short one, I want it to be longer...Except the ones that were really boring and were more than 100 eps long, those I just don't watch anymore, maybe later.

Probably the shorter ones. even over 30 it gets a bit frustrating. Although it depends on the anime of course. If it's good and the story works then it's always nice if there's more episodes. But then again if the beginnings good but when it reaches over 50 episodes it might start feeling like the story's just dragging on and repeating itself...

I love stuff that get you emotionally engaged. Also stuff that can play with your mind. Basically, stuff you can get really immersed in.

^that's good too. :D
