Air Gear or Tenjho Tenge? Which is the better Oh! Great series?
Hey what's good Minitokyo! It's good to be back! Anyway Ive been over great over
debate over which is the better series of famed mangaka Oh! Great. The martial
arts saga Tenjho Tenge or the exreme sports pheominon Air Gear? To get a better
idea heres a short summary of both seires from Wikipedia.com
Tenjho Tenge: For most of their lives, Souichiro Nagi and Bob Makihara have been
able to take over a school by fighting and beating everyone. Their first day at
Todou Academy started as any other new school, they start taking it over by
beating up everyone that got in their way. Not until Maya Natsume and Masataka
Takayanagi showed up did they realize that this was no ordinary school. This was
a school where people have powerful techniques and uncanny skill. They also
learned that the ruling Enforcement Group, led by Mitsuomi Takayanagi, is not to
be taken lightly and is not tolerant of their disturbance. In order to get back
at the "Enforcers," Souichiro and Bob join the Juuken Club which is
the only surviving group that opposes them. The more the two groups interact,
the more they begin to realize they are part of a conflict they know little
about.
The plot deepens as they find out about the history of Maya and Aya Natsume's
older brother Shin Natsume, how his Dragon Eye drove him insane and caused him
to kill his mother and father and eventually he was killed too.
Air Gear: Itsuki "Ikki" Minami, is a student and a delinquent. Also
known as the "Unbeatable Babyface"(Hikatsuganzu), Ikki is the leader
of the youth gang by the name of "East Side Gunz". Upon his return
home after being humiliated by a street gang of Skull Saders, Ikki discovers a
secret hidden from him by his benefactors, the Noyamano sisters. The sisters
belong to a group of Storm Riders who go by the team name of Sleeping Forest. In
the anime, learning the sisters' secret angers him and he steals a pair of Air
Trecks, abbreviated as "AT". (In the manga, the sisters give a pair of
ATs to him and invite him to skate with them.) Ikki eventually settles his
grudge with the Skull Saders, but in the process he receives more than the
simple satisfaction of revenge. Determined to experience the sensation of
"flight" for as long as he can, Ikki is quickly engaged in the
mysterious, irresistible world of Air treks.
So which is the best seires Tenjho Tenje or Air Gear! Please post the picture of
your prefered Oh! Great from up above and give me a explaniation on why they are

must i choose one? Sorry i am a great fan of both show and they are simply
best...so i won't say which is better as both are different,one is fighting the
another is using AT to race (well alittle fighting too).
mmmm... don't know really... both are "good" in whatever they
respect...
but i have to say i've enjoyed "much better" AG from TT...
But that's my thought... anyways, i'm still in love with Maya
I think makers of tenjho tenge & airgear are one group of people. for the
contents of the series, ill choose tenjho tenge. im not into in-line skating
battle.
I like both of them as well.
Air gear had an awesome modern sport (Air Treks) with a touch of mysticism (the
Trophaeum) and of course you have great eye candy in the form of the Noyamano
sisters, the hot teacher, and Simca
On the other hand you have Tenjho Tenge a good fighting anime (lotsa different
fighting styles), all the mysticism that goes with those fighting styles, and
some serious eye candy in the form of Aya, Maya, and a few other babes.
The animation of both series is really good and so are the scores.
However both suffer from one small problem anime-wise at least. THEY END TO
EARLY AND LEAVE TOO MUCH UNFINISHED!
Both seem good on looks and storyline but after seeing both the series and the
manga for me it's Air Gear, eventhough it's imaginative it does look cool
Well I'm not gonna read all that but both Tenjho Tenge and Air Gear have too
much....... ehem......... yeah.......... fanservice
But if I had to choose, I'd choose Air Gear
I thought that neither animes had interesting plots or good art although Air
Gear seemed to have better art than Tenjho Tenge
i like air gear better... i'm collecting the mangas =3 at the moment... its
really good =3.. tenjho tenge is good too but... =/... i like air gear more xD
I've only seen one episode of each of these anime. And the one I want to see
more is Tenjho Tenge, ;3 I just love the fighting <3 and cuties =3

No, no, no...too much fan service? Never....Seriously though, I must admit they
have some good quality eyecandy which is one reason Im drawn to it
At the moment my guilty pleasure is Air Gear, Ive seen both the animes but it
was obvious they only showed a fraction of both the story and the worlds of
either of the manga. Though, so far I'm thinking, the character design in Air
gear seems a little more natural and varied...if you know what I mean... How can
Ringo be cute and hot AT THE SAME TIME!?!
They're both extremely funny, with enjoyable characters and great action. For
the action part, Im going to have to go with Air Gear, because its a little more
creative in the storyline and the whole thing about ATs, as oppose to another
fighting anime.
Anyway, at the moment its Air Gear, but after I catch up on the manga I'll go
onto Tenjho Tenge manga, and from their I'll have a definitive answer.
m.......for me....lets seee.......Air gear! i love the
music backgrounds + some retroic style + AT battles + some fanservice i like
ringo and simca + its manga is great too with a nice artworks in the cover
as for tenjou tenge well its a nice anime though i dont understand the plot even
though i watch it several times....+ it is too much of fanservice but i guess
thats the way to make it right?

Both series are good, both are beautifully drawn, characterised, and have both
suffered from poor animation adaptations. That said, Air Gear is the easier to
read out of the two as it is obviously less dark. There was a hint of rape at
the start of the first volume, but there hasn't been anything like that since.
Even the death of popular characters pales in comparison to the treatment of
characters in TenTen (chiaki & enma enmi for example).
Both are great stories, but Air Gear is easier to read. It is just a shame that
they are so slow to release it in English forcing us to rely on scanlations.

Tenjo Tenge. I detest Soichiro but other than that I find that TT has more spectacular art and fight scenes, hotter girls, and a better plot.

Great art & dynamism, awesome characters. I hate Aya, but Tenjou Tenge is absolutely great.
besides all of teh fanservice; i enjoyed the character development, plot and especially the art in both of these [manga] series'.
though i wouldn't compare one to the other seeing as they are of different genres.
Air gear and Tenjo Tenge are both great, hehe...Oh! Great ftw!
I prefered Tenjho Tenge over air gear I just didn't like it as much as I did Tenjho Tenge
