I totally agree with you cygnostratus. And for that purpose, I believe that good
and evil are opinions. What I think is evil, though, is causing pain and
suffering to someone for no reason other than amusement or pleasure. But I'm
sure anyone who did that wouldn't agree that it's evil.
ooooh boy... don't tell me Jasmint got psychopathic killer... *sigh*
oh yeah jaks, if you base your thoughts on being beneficial or non-beneficial,
take this as an example:
take Former President Marcos as an example. I'm sure Jakulito, and other
filipinos like me, know who this guy is. in case you don't know, Marcos was a
dictator who caused a lot of political killings and arrested most people who
went against him at the time of we called "Martial Law" before the
1986 EDSA Revolution..
Marcos killed Ninoy Aquino, a senator at that time who was the biggest rival and
threat to Marcos, at the time Aquino arrived from abroad.
Marcos benefitted because he thought he eliminated the biggest threat in his
administration. So you think this isn't evil?
He's right, Good and Evil are inconsistent and you can't always be the
"good guy" or "bad guy" in this existence because not
everything you do will be good or bad in everyone's eyes
For me Good is something that aids man, and evil is something destroys the
bonds.
If you think about that, you can justify alot of evil things as good and alot of
good things as bad. So it makes everything relative.
I don't believe in good and evil... End of story.... I think god is a door you
escape through when you don't want to face facts and the devil is the lock you
blame when you don't have the key...
95Elizabeth does not believe in good or evil... so what do u believe?
Impartiality? Ying yang?
dont u believe in God/Goddess or Satan?
for Goddess sake everyone needs to believe in good or evil, becuz that's how
world function...
And is like u say cygnostratus, that thing is very subjective... becuz for me it
is not good having sex knowin my partner 3 months only...
I mock sometimes on others pple disgrace, even though i feel bad later or at the
instant.
for me good is what help pple, inside or out. and evil is what destroy
everything that is alive or help another entity to live descently, be it an
animal or a plant, a building, a park, a person either woman or man, a child or
whatever. if u buy furr just to be IN in the fashion world i say u're evil. if u
contribute to your society one way or another, i assure u pple will adore u till
death.
but some pple do good things to later achieve evil things... I guess i'm reading
to many comics that talks about a Savior and later becomes a sort of Devil's
Advocate or the Devil itself.
Quote by Kage-OnitenshiI totally
agree with you cygnostratus. And for that purpose, I believe that good and evil

Ah but by that standard those in S&M relationships are evil [or at least one
of those involved is]. You would need to quantify what counts as pain and
suffering if this is not the case, and what counts as doing it for unacceptable
variants of amusement/pleasure. [sorry just had to point out this minor
flaw.]
I do however agree that it is both a subjective and an objective classification.
Take as an example the death of a man who habitually tortures and kills those
who oppose him. On the face of it this is an act of good, and would be regarded
as such by many. But what about the point of view of the wife he loved and his
young child, now missing a vital member of their family, is this also good from
their point of view? What if there was justification for the torture of these
enemies?
Or as a different example. If you know a child will grow up and then bring and
end to all life if you don't kill him now, is it good or bad to kill him? what
if he didn't know that he was destined to end everything? What if your knowledge
of the future was wrong.
There was more, and a few things taken from old stories but the internet ate my
original post and I can't really be bothered to rewrite the entire thing right
now.
Hmmm, this is interesting...for me, good is not harming others for nonsense
reasons[ of course, this is going to be different from person to person,
but...sometimes you just can't understand everyone's side...] and evil is the
opposite...^-^ I kinda agree with Darryl, well, mostly...but in the "man
torturing his enemies" thing, I think there's also cause for others to kill
him, right? Aaah, this is confusing...-__-
It's really easy and yet hard to determine good and evil, evil could be
something so small and insignificant or something colossal like someone taking
over the world for there own reasons. Good could be someone walking down the
street tossing in a buck in the homeless guys cup and he lives that extra day
because once again someone is kind enough to spare that dollar for him to eat
someplace, keeping him away from the trash and starvation, to a nation fighting
for the rights of the people and bringing down usurpers who try to take over as
much land as they can. That's basically my definition of good and evil. Another
example, God is good and Satan is evil... from my religion.
God is the devil and the devil is god.... Heaven is hell and hell is heaven... A
chicken is a baboon and a baboon is a chicken.. I don't see a difference in
anything....
Distinction between good and evil?
Well, it depends on what kind of morality you have developed (what you learned
from your parents, and from your experience). Most people adhere to the norms of
society... while others deviate. There are many factors why other people deviate
from the norms, and normally you can't blame them... it's what they have
developed throughout their life.
Ask yourself this, if they had a good or satisfying life, would they still
deviate from the norms?
you might not believe it but this question is subjective to people.. meaning, what's good for you might be evil for me...
I just wanna know what you think guys..
HMMM.....! Do you really want to know!?
LOL
(Just Kidding!)

I'm totally right there with you, bro.
Personally, I don't view things as good or evil... I prefer to view them as beneficial or non-beneficial for me and others.
Everything and Anything
to me...
THIS IS EVIL!
*gets ready to kill ether*

I try to keep it simple.
True - true enough.

have a good day.
good vs evil has been going on for many generations...to me killing is good, allowing idiots to live is evil

for me.. Evil is just a matter of hurting someone while Good is of course the other way around..
when you're in a philosophy class with me, you'll learn that not all "Good" is "Moral" and/or "legal"
Hmmm...Good is evil and evil is good!
oooookay...

next weeks midterm = evil xP

The way i think things should be is good, all those that disagree are evil.
