All but a few threads in the Chat Lounge now say thread full no matter how few
posts are in the thread. Is this meant or is it an error with the the site?
I've too have been receiving this error message in the Chat Lounge, nomatter how
many posts are in the thread: This thread is full. If you wish to continue discussing
this subject, you are allowed to make a new thread about it.
For performance reasons I've currently set the thread post limit at 500 posts. A
lot of threads in the Chat Lounge exceed this number of posts, and are indeed
auto-closed. You can create a nwe thread on the same subject
Won't this create an influx of people trying to create a new thread without
searching the forum first? 2 and 3 threads of the same topic to be closed = More
work for the moderators. It seems like a really dumb idea to me, but maybe I'm
just not understanding it right. And if it helps I suppose its worth it, but
what about RPG's in the chat lounge. Seems like it would create some problems.
Most other forums have such a limit too. And closing a thread is just one click
of a button, all mods agree that forum moderation isn't that much work in
comparison to gallery moderation.
As for problems, I don't see what the problem is in continuing an RPG in a new
thread. You'd only have to draft a little intro for new readers once in a while,
but thats only more convenient for them, since they don't have to read up on all
of the 5000 or more posts.
well, let's say MT moderator's decide that there where to much in one thread.
but i find it ridiculous, becuz is already started, pple are goin to continue
their threads no matter what, part 2, 3, 4... infinite! :S
If a thread overflows and user starts a continuation thread, would it be okay
for that user to PM a mod or put a report on the original thread asking to get a
link in the last post to the new thread? That way people would know where to
continue the conversation/RP/etc without worrying about having 5 members try to
continue the topic in new threads.
Quote by Kuro-kun15I like Tama-Neko's
idea. But couldn't you just post the link yourself after you make the new
one?
If you're not the last poster in the old thread, you would need a mod to add the
link in that posting for you.
If you both end and start a new then of course that's not a problem

Did I do something wrong, or is this a bug?
It's probably just a bug. Moderators are aware of it and we're trying to figure out what's going on. Just hang tight.
Cheers for the update.
There is a hacker..
Or this world even real?
*Whooo*
Thanks for the info...
hope the threads get unblocked soon and I can start RP-ing again...

500? that's tiny o_O...

whatever.
yes thats the idea actually.

I've seen some threads in my day that exceed 500 posts but are really quality threads... never seen any on MT, but they do occur...
