Reliable vendor for IBM F50 parts?

Got an IBM F50 RS/6000 server that needs its memory board replaced. Well, it doesn't NEED it, but the J10 and J12 memory slots have had two of their memory retention clips snapped off. This would be fine, but there's another 4 memory modules to go on the board which currently has 1 GB of memory (8 modules). Getting another memory board shouldn't be a problem, as I've found several internet sites that carry them, plus an eBay auction. However, as this is for business, it'd be nice to not buy it from some hole-in-the-wall parts place.

Of course, I have yet to ask CDW if they can somehow get the part for us, but I thought I'd ask here anyways, even if it is a longshot.

IBM direct-sold me parts for an old Aptiva a while back, you may want to also look into them. Get the FRU number on the part and i'll bet they can at least give you a price quote.

You'd think that it might work that way. I do have part numbers and everything, and the manuals for the F50 servers are still available on IBM's site. However, IBM doesn't recognize the model number, that being 7025-f50. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hmmm. The ads are helpful. A couple more possible sites to get RS/6000 parts.

You may want to talk to them on the phone, too. IBM tends to have a lot of different part numbers for the same part, as I've learned from working on my Thinkpad 600/600e collection. There's a video inverter in there that i've seen at least a dozen different part numbers on, as well as the mainboards and CPU fans themselves (and many other parts).

The current Field Replacement unit they carry may be the same part but a newer revision with a different part number.
