Ok, Death Note live action is going to show in SELECT US theaters. For all you kiddies that care (and I know there's a lot) heres the homepage: http://www.deathnotefilms.com/home.php

Initially I was intrigued and thought maybe I'd find a theater somewhere nearby and give it a go... then I found out it was being screened dubbed. I'm sure that's not a dealbreaker for some of you, but it sure as hell is for me. I was interested just enough to go out of my way to watch it, but that little tidbit of information just told me to make it a DVD rental down the line.

The theater list is not yet released (even on the site they tell you that it is), but it will be released soon. It's supposed to show in 300+ theaters, so as long as you are plopped in the middle of nowhere Kansas, you should have a theater somewhere within driving distance. But does live action Light and L intrigue you enough to see the movie?

Being a fan of the anime series, I would most likely go see it dubbed or subbed, but just as long as its local to my area. I'm not the type to drive out of my way for a movie, even if I'm dying to see it.

And I already seen the movies anyway and loved it. I believe they have chosen the right actors to play Light and L. Live action L looks quite cute in my opinion.

oh man i'm not sure if their showing it over here in Charlotte North Carolina, if they do, i'm goin, its been months since i've been to the movie theatres.

Hm.. I saw part of the first movie in Japanese and I was highly disappointed. I can't even imagine how bad the series will be when they dub it. Are they keeping the Japanese names?

Oo.. There only doing it for money. Its probily going to caust more to watch it anyway. I bought both "The first name" part one and two for 10 bucks. And there only going to play it selected theaters- which means your going to have to pay money for gas to go- then pay to get in. PLUS its only the first one which is only worth 5 bucks. lawl. JUST go buy them, I personally don't think it'd be worth that much.

I don't mind dubbed animation, but it's very, very hard to do live-action dubbing that you can't tell has been altered. Even if they had the original cast doing the voices it would still more than likely be awkward. I'm kind of surprised they are showing the dubbed version when there have been quite a number of movies released lately that they simply subtitled, especially if it's only going to show in select theaters.

Oh sweet. I gotta go see that.

Good... it'll be interesting

I saw it in Chinese... it's... uh... interesting. :p
