ive been scaning in .. fan art. painted int Emulsion paints. but when scanned in to the computer they seem to look a lot worse. does anyone have any tips on how to improve the quality of the scans?. there are examples in my gallary of stuff ive scanned in and used simple paint shop pro effects to imrpove.

any feedback on the actual art would be nice too!

thnx

Basically for the scan artwork it is best if you just do the outline rather than to paint it then scan it. I suggest that you used blue led or light blue color. Ink it then scan it for at least 150 dpi tp 300 dpi. Put the option under black and white picture. The different is that when you scan, so the blue color won't appeare. Change the picture into grayscale pic and when the program ask you for the ratio, just put it 1 ratio.

Later on you can just simply color it using whatever software you're using heh^^, to improve from there, you'll havta do lots and LOTS of practise. Remember, no pain no gain my man ^^.

thanks. ^_^ ill try that

Which scan program do u use, the default windows XP ?

i use Irfan view to scan images at it gives me the least error messages with my 1980's scanner ^_^

If you have a black and white ( no gray tones ) draw or something scan with a option name Atr Line.
Good Luck.
