Chrono Trigger. Much better story, better characters. Chrono Cross wasn't a waste of time, but it was a little disappointing after the genius that was Chrono Trigger.

Both games are pretty wicked.Even though I haven't played either(and want to),I think Trigger is the better of the two since it has great charcetr art and story plot,but so does Croos and it's expanded cat a la Sudioken.

haha... i would choose Chrono Cross, i love that game.... besides, i haven't played Chrono Trigger yet... hahaha

It's too bad Square-Enix has no plans to further the series. =/

I would say Chrono Trigger cuz that game is what really got me into RPG. I haven't played Cross so maybe I shouldn't be deciding yet. heh

Chrono Cross!! The soundtrack is kickass awesome!! All the characters are cool.

Chrono Trigger was amazing, but I felt CC was somewhat lacking. It was fun and all, but it lacked that pull that CT had.

I chose Chrono Cross, because I played it first. Without it, I would have never even played Chrono Trigger.

Chrono Trigger is one of the best RPGs I've ever played, and probably the game I played the most in my life...
Chrono Cross however is one of the few RPGs I regreted spending my precious time playing... way too many (crappy) characters whith pratically no development through the stroy, it's incredible short, there are very few weapons in the game, especially when compared to ct... lots of bad memories from this one .

I grew up on Chrono Trigger, and I'm glad I did.
Chrono cross was good, but there was just something that was missing that didn't make it amount to Chrono Trigger...
The memorable characters are a big thing. With 50+(?) characters in Chrono Cross, it was hard to get attached to any.

Chrono Trigger - hands down.

Chrono Cross only got some good raves cuz it came off its parent Chrono Cross - which is one of the ultimate SNES games of all times.

Chrono Cross - graphics are terrible, their music is NOTHING overall compared to Chrono Trigger <except maybe 4 or 5 songs> and the storyline is not as much in depth as Chrono Trigger is.

The old game was better, that's all I would have to say. Hands down, very little competition.

I honestly don't see how you come up with the graphics being terrible. I thought they were quite good for one. For another thing, bringing up graphics between games on systems in differing generations is like comparing apples and oranges.

This is a hard but I have to say Chrono Cross. Though I haven't played Chrono Trigger all the way to the end. And Chrono Cross was the first Psx game I ever finished.

I played Chrono Trigger on super Nintendo I beaten that game about 8 times it is the best RPG ever to me. And Chrono Cross I love this game too it is #2 to my #1Chrono Trigger. It is too bad it was not on Nintendo I hope they bring Chrono Cross to nintendo and make it better, I beaten Chrono Cross about 9 times. I hope that if there will be a Chrono 3 it will be a only for title for Nintendo or for PlayStation and for Nintendo.
