Not sure if there's been a topic on this already, but I was wondering what
people's preferences were: anime or manga?
Some series I definitely have a preference: for instance, I like the Azumanga
Daioh anime slightly better than the manga, but I like the Saikano manga a lot
better than the anime. Overall, however, I'd probably have to say I like manga
better by a squeaky margin. I like how you can sort of play it out in your own
head: The characters are, of course, developed how the creator wants them to be,
but when you use your own imagination you add your own flair to the characters
that makes them sort of unique to yourself.
some series with more action is better in anime, since it doesnt look all that
cool in still frames. but manga you can read faster and it has less fillers

i prefer manga>anime but the only thing that anime beats manga is when there
is cool action ^_^
i prefer manga over anime mainly because it's the original story and manga
usually is much more detailed than the anime. but anime is good too because u
get to see the characters moving and talking, and requires less effort to watch
than to read. for the plot i'd read the manga and for the action i'd watch the
anime.
I actually prefer the anime because even though i like reading, its easier for
me to see and feel the character's emotions and understand where there coming
from. Plus its alot of more fun to watch something for me, even if the manga has
more of a storyline.
For me it depends on the series. Sometimes the anime is not as good as the
manga. Take Midori no Hibi for example. I felt that the anime wasn't as good as
the manga, cos the anime didn't develop Midori's character and feelings until
the very last minute.
Heh, and if not, i guess it's true that the story is usually better developed in
manga. And then there's cases like Berserk where the manga goes on and on past
the anime series, which is good too. But still, anime moves....
I consider myself to be a mangaka (I like to draw manga and to it I was devoting
myself in the secondary school) for such a motive it is possible to think that I
like more the manga, but actually I prefer the anime
I really perfer the Manga VS the Anime, because the Manga is by the original
drawer/author, and it goes in more depth, VS the anime, the producer starts from
anywhere and does not give the whole story... Like Gravitation. LOL I had to use
that example. :P

think they poorly did the animation and so I much prefer the manga.

when i was a child i readed manga but...now that i'm a girl i prefer to see
anime because are more intresting and the history is more flow...the character
have got more expression ...so i can enter in the history...for the manga there
is more immagination in fact the history grow up in your mind with your
immagination...in each case i'm in love for the manga e anime...;)

Yeah, that is one other thing I do like about manga. Less filler! Filler episodes are, IMO, what drag down a lot of anime.
Most animes need to have fillers... so they don't catch up the manga. I prefer manga for detail and artwork.
It all seems to depend on the series like MenchiBurger said. But, in general, I prefer the manga.
