Personally, I can't just choose one fav b/c there are so many GFs.
The ones I thought most useful: Cerberus (triple and double spells!! great for
aura ^_^) , Eden (duh, most powerful gf in the game), Bahamut (*_* very cool in
addition to useful), Odin (^-^, killing enimes instantly is always nice, I hate
it when I have to get Gilgamesh instead, Odin was so much better!! only good
thing about Gilgamesh is the card... but you have to work to get that). But most
of the other GFs, if their attacks are no longer as useful, they certainly have
good junction abilities.
Most useless GF: Carbuncle, undeniably to cutest of all the GFs ,
it's reflect helps out only once or twice (I use when when fighting Edea for the
first time... but pretty much never after that).
ya know... the only mighty gf, summon, eon or eidolon out there is holy knight
Alexander, man.... he is so damn powerful. He were a secret and powerful summon
in ffvii, He whooped Bahamut's arse in ffix, he ruled in ffviii.... mmm.... he's
awesome..... he kicks ass, period.

My favorite not only in 8 but in all the final fantasy games is Siren. Her
attack may not be as useful later in the game but i love some of her abilities
(like treatment) and besides shes just so cute ^_^ It always mad me sad that she
never showed up in any of the games after 8 though maybe
one day!

the first would be that she is a real beauty and secondly because its one of the
fastest once to cast its spell / attack.
Ok other look cool but the coolness disapears very fast if u see it 10 times in
a row

it the lion looking thing ... that was cool. though u could ever to use for
urself LOL.
I relied on Shiva heavily throughout the game. She was my favorite, and I
thought her attacks were beautiful. In my mind, ice and cold is beautiful. I
guess that's why I liked Shiva so much. Quezcoatl was pretty useful too. They
all were, but some I just rarely used at all even if I had them all.
Though I didn't rely much on the Guardian Forces in the game, I would say the
best attacks of GFs from my game were delivered by Bahamut and Eden (nvm the
loooooong ceremony)... Doomtrain, Tonberry, Alexander were the most useful in
terms of abilities.
I liked watching Diablos and Shiva's summons, and I think square should have let
us play with griever too^^. But late game, these guys are hardly used cuz i just
keep squall in the red and renzo-away... ahaha
Mine's Bahamut and Griever too. Although Eden is the most powerful GF, the GF
summoning animation is too long...i use Eden's summon in the game to get my
coffee or even have toliet break...lol

nowadays it just took me a whole 48-72 hours just to complete the game(provided
if i get the 'lionheart in time...lol) In short, FF8 is just not challenging...

Shiva!! She's always been my favourite even though she's not the strongest one.
I just like her way of coming up from that pole of ice with her eyes closed,
then opens them just before she smashes the ice into a thousand pieces. After
that she summons Diamond Dust and fires it towards the enemies. Just so
beautiful. *wipes tears* She's even better in FFX. I just love it how Square has
successfully made her both graceful, beautiful and powerful.

My favorites are eden, bahamut, leviathan and tombery. But the others are cool, too.
Diablo has the best outfit and evocation animation.
But the damage he deals is weak, Bahamut is the best balanced gf available. Eden is too strange and powerful to be funny.

Diablos, Ifrit, Alexander, Bahamut. Always my favorites
