whats ur fav. desktop resolution?
i like 1152x864.. just just alright.. not too big .. and not too small
nice right for me :)

so what's your preference?

I'll stick to 1024*768 even though I'm using 17inch. unless I have 19 inch monitor :)

I usuaully have my desktop set to 1280 x 1024 32 bit on my 19 in monitor. I like the extra desktop space. XD

Just the same story.

1024x768 as well just because it looks good enough without hosing the computer.

I think 1024 x 768 is the best resolution for 17 inch monitor ^_^. mor than this...small - -" less than this...so big !o_O"

*rofl* So, it's not necessarily my favourite, but the max for this laptop is 1024. I'd go for something bigger if I could. ^_^' It gets in the way sometimes, but suffices.

My monitor's native resolution is 1280x1024. However, if I had the money I would like to have one of those 30in Cinema displays (resolution: 2560 by 1600).

I've always used the 800x600 res, but if i could have a bigger monitor i'd get a 1152x864, mostly because some of the programs i use can't be resized and look really weird on my current res.

Bigger is usually better, in my opinion.

How many of you notice that 1280x1024, while commonly used, is not the same 4:3 ratio as the other "standard" resolutions (i.e. 800x600, 1024x768. 1600x1200)? The res. that fits the pattern is 1280x960.

Though I like 1600x1200, I guess it really depends on the size of the monitor I'm using. It will be very painful on a 17" monitor.

er.. may i ask why 4:3 ratio resolutions is better? ^_^'

used to be 1024...
but switched to 1152 when i got my 17" monitor.

I have always used 800x600 forever, because our old monitor was really small. But I recently got a new monitor with my comp, and its 17" so I use 1024x768 now. Its much better.

i am using 1280x1400 on my Pc ^^

Yeah, but most monitors have to stretch to reach 1280x960 because a monitor is more square than rectangle, and 1280x1024 is more boxish. And besides, some cards can't even read 1280x960; 1280x1024 is just more common though it doesn't fit the 4:3 aspect ratio.

I myself use 1280x1024 too.

I'm using 1280x1024 since it is the native resolution of my 17"-TFT-monitor.

Ehh... anything beyond 1152x864 is too small, and below that would be to big for me, it's probably just because I'm used to it. 1024x768 and 1280x1024 are more of the standard resolutions though. Also, another resolution used by quite a few people would of course be 1600x1200, especially for ppl who need a lot of desktop space for apps like PS etc.

i just tried switching to 1280x1024.. and i can see my screen is flickering! whats your refresh rate at this resolution? anyone? ^_^' mine's 60hz

My display is 2560x960 (dual 1280x960).
It'll be 3840x960 if I ever get off my lazy arse and get my other monitor fixed ;)

i use 1280x960 since it's a 4:3 ratio
