Yes I do love Resident Evil. I played it ever since the first game came out all
the way up to the release of RE0. These are quite great games and hope that RE4
is just as great.
I'll try RE 4 because it looks like they're chaging the controls. All the rest,
I can't stand them. 3D control is horrible, makes for terrible response time.

Hmmm my choice is on Silent Hill since I know this game...
I think that Resident Evil 1 and 2 where good Survival Horror yay ... but after
I regret that he changed himself into a "Shoot 'em up" ... It's my own
point of view.
I played 1-2-3 and I stopped ... pfff and after big differencies in the type of
game (and the 3 is just ...)
The first episode is quite good, but after that every episode seems to be
repeating the same formula
Silent Hill series has replaced the position of resident evil long when we talk
about AVG Horror game
i do like to play the Resident Evil games, i have resi evil 1,2,3 on PS1 and GC
version of resi evil 1. I enjoy RE 2 & 3 but im still trying to fully finish
the GC version. However i think the GC version has become a bit of a chore
rather than a game. They made it too darn hard! too much wandering around,
can't properly kill the zombies (crimson head thing) and very limited item slot
space (they should have added in the backpack feature from RE2) Don't get me
wrong i think the remake is great with it's all new graphics and features but i
would prefer a more action based arcady style like in RE3

the upcomming RE4. I liked that the previous games were more of slow paced
exploration and story themed (with action mixed in). RE4 looks to be an action
game and nothing else. Here's hoping Capcom makes it worth my while to play
this by putting a decent story line into it.
i like the game but now its gettin boring. i think they should have stopped
after resident evil 3 nemesis or maybe after code veronica. the first movie is
ok too but the but the sequal is bad. And now its like they only want to make
more money wtih it. Resident evil online isnt online in germany and every year
a new game appear... i dont like such marketing its like tombraider or some EA
game which every year get a sequal...

I definately agree with you on the way that Capcom is marketing the series.
They are nothing but a bunch of cash cows. Just look at Street Fighter or Mega
Man. Capcom will keep rehashing games for ever just to make a quick
buck.
BTW: What part of Germany are you from? I currently live in the USA but I was
born in Starnberg am See, in sued Bayern.

Silent Hill will probably continue to be kind of the survival horror genre,
seeing as how the Resident Evil series is going in an entirely different
gameplay direction.
The Resident Evil series and the Silent Hill series are probably the best games
to come out of Japan IMO, Resident Evil 2 is still my favourite, it was and
still is the best survival horror game that i've played. The movies were pretty
good and it was good how they sort of conjured up their own story that *sort of*
ran parallel to what had already happened in the games, I prefer this over
trying to make the games directly into movies, which would've been bound for
failure.
I can't play that game. Camera sucks, the puzzles suck (stuff in myst is not bad
though), my ammo is limited, and worse, I can't play the game alone. Its a tad
bit spooky... not ghost story spooky, but "sh*t, what was that noise...
ahhh" spooky.

The backing story is ok. But, in general, it's just too gruesome and all of that for me..
RE4 takes place in Europe, 6 years later after the destruction of Racoon City.
Resident Evil is awesome, I can't wait for Resident Evil 4.

I love Resident Evil 2 but the rest of them suck except for Code Veronica. Resident Evil 4 looks pretty awesome though!
