I personally found nothing interesting about it. It vaguely follows the storyline, with several events taking place out of order, and the events are rushed. I agree that the game started very slowly, but the animation doesn't flesh out the characters very well at all. Also, the music is pretty crappy; it attempts to be something great but fails miserably.
The opening was pretty dull as well. It just showed outer space with see-through pictures of all the characters, with a few CG animated things. There was no artistic attempt whatsoever.
As a diehard Xenosaga fan, I was terribly disappointed. Though it was just the first episode; maybe it will get better.

Seen the raw version. It is slightly altered here and there but the premise is still the same as the game (Episode 1).
Can't say that the anime is superb but it's a nice break while waiting for other anime episodes to be subbed.

Having just watched the first episode, it wasn't terrible. It wasn't terribly exciting, either. But it is generally not a good idea to pass judgement after just one episode, and I liked it well enough I'll probably pull down subsequent releases :-)
i agree with Wiegraf30, you basically have no idea who these people are unless you played the game. No effort to introduce them is made at all. If you are paying attention you might catch the names.
Xenogears the anime would be fun. I want to see the men...of...the sea! *buzzer* :-/

It's not that bad but then again it's only been one episode so it's kinda hard to tell right at this moment if this series will be any good or not.

i saw the xenosaga episodes its really good and funny.
there are 12 episodes in all cause they hav add some extra scene's,
