I'll make it this clear as possible.
As some of you have already notice.
The top submissions has gone into a huge dissapointment.
For the pass 2-3 weeks.
I've notice, that people are paying alot more attention to some cute ecchi scan in a wallpaper.
Even tho, the Background it self isnt as great.
The so call *Members* (General) Of MT. Are seriously UnEducated *Meaning, not using their Head* More like using their eyes. *Seeing a beauitful Ecchi scan pasted right to a background, Faving it Instantly. Comenting, Nice Ecchi scan. Not paying any attetion to the background.*
Theres alot of great Artist out there. Right now, that Deserves their works to the Top Submissions. Heres a great Example; Oracle Angel. "D" Grunge king.
His marvlous Grunge works are very skilled.
But, not many people notice his talent. Maybe they were to busy looking up ecchi scans that would turn them on. That just to show, how *Dull* Headed they really are.
Also, people actually payed attetion to *Some* of his wallpapers that has a scan of a ecchi girl? Notice a little pattern?

My Second Example: Crapmonster, Also another great Grunge Skilled Waller.
His last Wallpaper. He submitted a few numbers of well done vectored wallpapers, but they never noticed his talent.

My Thired Example: White-Zero. His a great abstract artist. His work s always floors me down from his Very skilled Abstract. Very few members notice his Abstract Skillz, Have they gave him a chance to look through his works? NO. This also relates to Jins talent, they never notice Him or white.

There also some few more great artist i haven't mention.

You see a little pattern going on out here?
Grunge , Vectors and Abstract Wallpaper?
People dont give no respect to them, or love.
Isnt funny that i didnt mention anything about people not noticing Scenic Wallpapers with ecchi scans?
Thats cause they like them, you wanna know why?
Its cause it turns them on, when their at there little dark corner.

Thats all i have to say. I hope this would help to make MT a much better Community.

Arrr....no matter how you look at it, it is a FAV list, so, of course even the crappiest submission can be there if everyone favs it.

That's one of the reason I stopped posting walls here.

One person I would LOVE to mention in honors of.

KittyCyn - her other wallpapers are the finest. They do get the recognition they deserve, but there was one time when she submitted an amazing wallpaper background with a nice ecchi scan on top of that - and low and behold, guess where it ended up? On the top of her list, aside from all the others. Her newest wallpaper does tend to get overlooked because more people are now looking at ecchi scans more than ever.

My notes - it's becoming a pain in the neck that now good wallers only get their stuff fav.'d more often simply because it should have an ecchi picture slapped onto it.

No ecchi picture. Less favs. to consider. It's as simple as that. Might I also add that having many friends on your list is starting to become abused already.

More friends equal more opportunities of getting favs. and your fav. count goes up. That DOES NOT mean you obviously have talent, let me clarify you. It's the truth - the more friends you have, the more likely they will fav. your works. It's all about sucking up to them and being nice to them of course. No offense. Not that I'm angry about the system or anything, but when you notice new wallers or low-leveled wallers with great wallpapers submitted that is of higher quality and better design than those on the top daily submissions, and you realize it doesn't make it up on the list, you'll realize whether truly something is going wrong with the system here.

This is not a popular contest! The more popular you are around here, the more likely your walls are to be fav'd. More likely is the key word here. It's not guaranteed of course. It tends to pretty much ruin the purpose.

So I'd like to add the fact that having many friends and being popular and acting nice to them - like sucking up and requesting them to fav. their walls, for example - do play a key difference when submitting in walls that could make the daily top submissions here. No offense, but it is becoming a constant disappointment to me already. That's all I wish to point out.

Dissenting opinion doesn't run the show, you see. Popular opinion does. If you don't like it (Personally, I don't like the whole 'ecchi' trent either, but...) then you have no choice but to gather enough people together to make your opinion popular... >_<

Shadow. I agree with your reasoning. The same applies to Doujinshi. While excellent walls are not acknowledged, excellent artists are getting equally ignored. I would know, I am one of them. Though my artwork gets its fair shair of views, there are many others who are getting less then I am.

And Celessa, agree with you on the Friends list. But its kind of a two way thing. Yes, friends may make a small difference in whether someone see's your submissions, simply because they are made aware of when you submit something, but then some people dont take the time to view it. In my opinion, or what I believe, the Friends List to help others know when you submit, so they can comment, its kinda like a process.

There's my two cents.

I say MT friend system should be more like da watch system. So that usually only the best wallers/artists end up in top favs. Usually.

*goes off and blames it all on MT flist* It's nice having friends but when there's too many.. just turns into obligations -_- And sometimes I get the feeling that ppl fav b/c they feel obligated to do so since they are on each other's flist.

But yes I agree.. mt is almost all about ecchi/cute anime girls/scenerics+planets here

Oh, but how do you know that people don't respect a work just because they don't favorite it?

It's easy to argue that any form of valid criticism is respect, and I notice a lot more of the replying to popular images is "Nice work! +fav!" which is more of reverence than respect. Less popular works often have more comments on why specific parts need work or don't need work, etc. Anyway, I guess you could try and pretend you don't care about the whole popularity shuffle, but it's kind of obvious that you do. "Oooh! I don't care what other people think! I'll show 'em!"

At any rate, it'd be kind of cool to petition for something on the main page that showed a random selection of wallpapers from the giant table of them. One of the consequences of having popular works show on the main page or the main gallery page is that even more people see them, making them even more popular. I don't blame people for that, however. Keeping track of the new things in every gallery is really hard. (The 'Latest Postings' helps, though..

and yeah. Some parts are correct.
But some are wrong. Its like this. Just take for a example that Jin:Submitted a new abstract wall. For the pass 2-3 days, People wont give a damn about it sense they dont pay no attetion to it when theres no *Ecchi* scan.

Shadowdude, you're right. I can admit that at first, I was far too much into the ecchi scans that I didn't want to appreciate the other beautufil artwork around. Now, I want to appreciate so many great works of art.

Ezekiel brought up an excellent point about the most popular submissions. If the most popular submissions stayed on the main gallery page for a long time, that increases its popularity even more, which does make it unfair for those who are just beginning and those who would like their work to be seen more.

Some of the new wallpapers that are really good are being overlooked because of wallpapers that are popular. I'm sure that other members who submitted work recently have the same or similar thought.

But this is the system we ran in soceity as well, anywhere if you got connection you will be rewarded. Skills do matter, but a lot of people has skills, to make a difference you need to have connection and lots of friends. It is a cold reality, but is a fact of life also. It is impossible to look out for the little guys, because everyone start out as little guys, once they become big I hope they would still look after the little guys that is new around here. ;)

i hope all the members that is leeching off the wallie in this place get my meaning, because some wallie just don't get a lot of love, and the fact that people just leech off it without any comment is just a disheartening situation. It shouldn't take much of effort to comment on another's work, and you don't have to fav it, just a comment would do a great service to many walliers here. Hope you guys keep that in mind the next time you leech off a wallie. :)

Yes. That is the nature of favoriting a wallpaper. If you're complaining that popular opinion is based on the wrong things, well... God. It's human nature. Go find yourself some better humans..

And no, I'm saying that because 'I don't care what other people think!' is always a false statement. Even specific forms of it- 'I don't care if they like it or not!' are essentially universal falsehoods.

Comments instead, sense *They* give them, critique tips and shows
the flaws of the mistakes, which you can improving upon.
