I know the anime/manga Kanon by name. Does anybody know its story?

well....
a kid comes back to a northern town to live with his aunt and cousin after 7 years because his parents had to work overseas.
he doesnt remember alot about what happened when he was there and he doesnt want to at first.
as the story progresses he starts to remember slowly and uses those memories to aid the girls in the story...i dont know if it 's the one you had in mind but thats the kanon i've seen
