yep! animecollector sells bootleg stuff. so does meganimedvds, njanime.
damn you google! tricked me! last time i'm using google to search for anime dvds.
here are some info for you people on how to spot fake goods.
1) they tend to have spelling mistakes. eg. nintindo
2) have funny english. things that don't make sense. eg. naruto spanks the monkey
3) anything made in taiwan. they're way behind on copyright laws. eg. made in taiwan
4) if you can buy a whole set for very little $. eg. $40 for all episodes of Love Hina
5) has english and chinese dubbings.
6) region 0 is always pirate.
7) 26 Episode series are never spread across 3 DVDs.
8) if you are unsure if an anime is licensed for such deals, check out www.animeondvd.com
9) If you own a DVD and are uncertain if it is authentic after reading all this, have a look at the inner ring of the
DVD near the hole in the middle. Normally there is a serial number in this area, just like a CD. If it has been
scratched off, melted away or otherwise tampered with then that is another sure sign of a pirate/bootleg DVD. This
number is used to identify the DVD pressing plant and has been removed so it cannot be traced.
10) poor overall quality.
11) these are pirate companies
