Whoops. Fillers are what happen when the maker aka God runs outta time. So they just throw shit togather. Like the whole eve thing......Porn

P.S. Don't ask how god can run outta time.

I Don't Won't No Trouble

I don't really mind that there are filler episodes in an anime.. *cough*Naruto*cough*

I think it's just a break from a story and they just do random episodes that don't affect the plot. Well, as long as the fillers keep me interested, I wouldn't stop watching the anime.

fillers are just like ClockWindDragon said, its when the writer runs out of time, or has prepared for such a situation, he/she creates these episodes....in Bleach's case, i think Episode 63 is gonna be a filler, talkin about the guys at soul society being silly and actin friendly n stuff...

The better definition of filler is: content created specifically for the anime that is not directly based on the manga. Most often referring to entire episodes and/or story arcs animated for the purpose of allowing the manga to advance.

Bleach will end up going into filler because the Soul Society arc in the anime is just about over, but the next story arc in the manga is still currently running, with not much time/distance in between. That's exactly what Naruto did. The anime story arc caught up to closely to the manga, and they needed to give the manga more time to advance, so they are creating filler for the anime. Filler by the way, is what caused the demise of the Rurouni Kenshin anime. When the Kyoto arc in the anime had ended, it had really caught up closely to the manga; the Jinchuu arc had just begun in the manga. Sony decided to animate filler (Meiji arc) so the manga could advance, but because of that, RK's anime popularity declined to the point that Sony decided NOT to animate the Jinchuu arc. The Inuyasha anime ended in a similar fashion; the story caught up to closely to the manga, so rather than create more filler material (as the anime had quite a bit of filler already), they decided to stop anime production altogether.

Filler is not necessarily a bad thing, it's just that a lot of fans don't like it because it takes the anime away from the story line of the manga (filler just happens to be a necessary evil sometimes). Just so you know though, filler in the anime is the decision of the anime production staff, and is not the decision of the manga creator (though they may discuss the material with the manga-ka so as to not over step their bounds with the characters).

if it's just for fun.... uh... like 1 episode for a whole action series.. I like it
if it's a filler genre anime.... it's also very entertaining
but if it's like 3-4consecutive episodes on an action movie, please don't T_T
