I have seen that they give roughly a month before the deletion is permanent... I was wondering if there has ever been a case where the deletion was reversed?

Deletions can be overturned, if the proper process is followed in the Deletion Complaints forum (see: Complaints: deleted images, warnings, bans. for full details) and the moderators who review the image believe that the original deletion was incorrect.
