I in particular have always been looking for a video game that I can say truely has scared me, but it always seems as though most games can't get past the cheap "jump thrill" idea of quick scares. There have been a few games though, that I remember leaving an imprint in my mind of it's many frightening imagery.
In particular, I am a big fan of Fatal Frame 2. The first time I played, it was very suspensful. There was always this sense of desperation to escape the village in peice. Also, the fact that it revolved around ghost, and not a monster chasing you made things more interesting ... it made it feel as though everyone who was in the village had a backstory behind them. The storyline was also very well excuted, as well as the voice acting (which is unusal in the horror genre).
I am wondering, what games do you feel have scared you the most, or even made you fear so much, that you had to not play it for a time? Please tell me what you think are the best genres, games, etc. in the horror gaming catagory. Maybe I can finally find a game that will actually scare me XD .
