Hi there, since I didn't see a thread like this, I decided to make one! As you might know, Firefox 3 was recently released to the public, and boasted over "15,000 changes". Well, I decided to give it a try, and I thought it was alright, haha. I liked some new things, such as the implemented download manager, but I disliked others such as the lack of available add-ons and themes. I preferred Firefox 2 because I had a much more diverse library of extensions and themes, but I just wondered what you guys thought of it! Likes, dislikes, anything! :)

Nice. Plus it loads much faster (including shorter download time) and it even retained my bookmarks.

In short, it works super.

Here's an add-on to revert to the old address bar if you're getting fed up with the new drop down on the address bar: oldbar 2.1

According to my calculations, your problem doesn't exist.

Oh, and mostly anti-celeb/anti-Hollywood/anti-commercial since 1978

Haha, why thank you! Nice add-on! Thank you for sharing! I do prefer the old bar's simplicity and size compared to the new bar's!

Firefox 3 is great. It is much faster and more stable than FF 2 (and has far fewer memory leaks). The extra features and UI changes are really nice as well.

I have been using it since beta 1 last fall, so I've had the extension compatibility problem far worse. One trick you can use is to set extensions.checkCompatibility to false in about:config and force them to install. Not all of them will work and some partially work, but it has been really useful for the ones that function unofficially. I also find it kind of refreshing to have to look at which extensions you really need and use. I find that over time, I may stop using some of them or find to be less functional than I had expected.

To be honest, I have never found a theme that I like more than the default (for any version of firefox 0.7 to 3.0). However, I do install the cutemenus SVG extension that adds icons to the menus. This one needs the compatibility hack to install, but works perfectly (or there is CuteMenus Classic that is 3.0 rated).

Best browser in my opinion. The thing is... when your downloading images from Minitokyo with Firefox 3, MT will block you with a pwn3d image T.T Dunno if anyone is having the same problems as I am, but if you are... resort to using IE.

I hate FF3 but I've never had a problem with downloading images for MT. The only problems I have is the buttons for bold and such and the smileys are now useless to me! I click on them but nothing happens. Downloading the only problems I have is I prefer to just click the enter button to save the image and it refuses to do that! Otherwise I have no problems in that area.

Otherwise I hate the fact that the download videos with real player are disabled! I hate that! I have tried using internet explorer with it but it won't work. At least not on Adult Swim.

i can watch videos on adult swim with firefox 3, im thinking you dont have the right plugins

anyways, ff3 is a definite improvement from the last version. much faster than before and takes less memory

I like the new version of firefox, but I don't see a huge difference compared to the older version. I've also noticed that the download videos option is disabled for Real Player. It still lets you view video, just can't download. I also hate the fact that a lot of the add-ons an themes don't work, but I'm sure that more will come out soon.

FF3 is great.

I don't know why many complain about the addons.. i mean it only takes time and since those addons are from ppl that likes to create them and then share them with you so easily, then why you complain?

Either way the same situation happened from 1.5 to 2, you say that you love FF2 but it was in the same position in which FF3 is now. Just take it easy, some day it will come back.

The things that really matter to sort of rate the value of FF3 is the improves on itself, forget about the addons, perhaps not many realize that the improvement in memory management is something really awesome, the following of standards, the efficiency of the engine that is what it really matters. I strongly suggest guys that complain about not being able to see something or such at web pages it's because of the web itself, perhaps it doesn't follow the standards making weird designs or not working at all, it's not FF3 fault.

I like FF3, its smoother, the autocomplete feature is nice and it seems to run better on my 64 bit machine then FF2 for whatever reason (I cheat i compiled mine for it) which makes getting flashplayer on to play, a pain but overall nice.

Life is just the act of progressing, if you don't advance you don't live.

I like FF3. It's faster than FF2.
