I'd like to know why my scan, "Barajou no Kiss Chapter 4" (seen here: http://f.imagehost.org/view/0259/barajou04 ) was deleted in favor of this scan: http://download.minitokyo.net/395236
I am aware that the scan which replaced it lacks text over the image, but it is lower quality in every other regard, including the colors and the clarity. The original is of neither lower quality nor a smaller size (in fact, it's bigger) than the new scan.

Think of it from a waller's perspective. That's a very very substantial amount of text. So much that it would be hard to even vector the image. It's much easier to sharpen and color balance the textless scan than to de-text the sharper and more colorful scan.
