I am a big DBZ fan at heart, but I like other anime thanks to there storyline. DBZ is the reason I love Bleach I am a lonley person. I have also talk with mods. I was thinking if I edit them maybe then they can't take it off. I mean what can I do you gave me links pornographic pics I am looking and I can't figure out how to work through it. I mean nobody knows any sites. Then what if it was yours or how can picture. I keep running to figure this stuff and nobody is helping really so I am just gonna try different ways.

You cannot just take someone else's scan and edit it a bit in photoshop and then claim it is totally different. The base image is still the same. I've told you already that there are other ways to participate (if you're concerned about gaining credits) other than uploading scans.

Yea, but wallpapers you have to have your own and I don't get it. How can you have your own made. There is no way. How can you make a original. I am no artist.

It seems like you haven't even been browsing the gallery and looking at what other people have posted - if you just look at the stuff people post and think about why it's there and why each category is different, it's not so hard.

What is a wallpaper? A wallpaper is something you set onto your desktop. It's not just a picture, it's a piece of work that someone has made by taking a scan or a picture and making their own background. This isn't making their own scan, it's using pictures they found on the Internet (including Minitokyo) and then making their own original background.

You can't take someone else's work and post it up as yours - you can't edit it either - this is plagiarism - though in these communities we call it "ripping". We don't allow it here.

If you can't make wallpapers or think you can't make them - simply, do not make them until you can understand the gallery and the Policy + FAQ.
We are trying to help you and the information is all there - I don't think you're reading it, because there's no evidence in your posts to suggest you've attempted to digest the material.

Also, try to not make a new thread - you opened a new thread with a copy/paste of the last post just above this one simply because you didn't seem to get a reply within 24 hours. I'm closing your other thread and keeping all the replies onto this one because I think you've been answered enough. princessmeyrin023 was not obligated in any way to elaborate when you could have just read the FAQ / Policy.

If you still have any questions, ask, and keep it on this thread. But please, read the Policy and FAQ. You should help yourself and read them because they will help you. There's only so much we can help if you're not willing to help yourself.

Listen in your policy I have read never once do you explain the websites you can use. i have been reading your policy and faq's for a while now. I just quit, because tour place is place for artist visionary that isn't me. If I came up to you and gave you a art piece that I made you would say it was terrible. If I did do a wallpaper I still really don't understand, because what my mind is saying was that when I make a wallper a take another scan and make into a wallpaper that people use on there background. I know plagerism when I first came here I never thought this was one of those type of sites. That is the reason I just stopped. Listen I will try to do art work, but don't expect much.

Based from your profile , I assume that you're really 13 (I thought there's an age limit here too) . So , I'll keep it simple for you to understand . So , pay attention , okay ?

Read the ones in bold , and that very much answers everything . There's a good reason why they don't list down the sites where you can take their images & post it here as a scan simply because of how vast the internet world is . If they were to list down sites that you can get scans from , the list will be endless (I'm not talking about hundreds or thousands , it's billions , as in 1,000,000,000,000+) . So , the question is that are you willing to scroll through the long list of sites , just to find that one particular site where you got your scans from and see if it's allowed to be posted here on MT or not ? To me , I find it redundant in many ways .

To put it simple , it's common sense & it's not worth arguing about by many others here , to be honest (Including me) .

I'm trying to get around with what you're trying to write there , despite me being the kind who can decipher broken language very well (It's kind of my special trait) .

Editing them is equivalent to just doing touch-ups , which means you do very little to it . An edited scan is not a self-made wallpaper nor it is a work done by you .Therefore , it's still plagiarism . Since you're still young , I won't become a word vampire . So , I'll keep it simple - "Doing little to no changes to an original artwork of other artists and claiming it as original and yours = Plagiarism" ..... I feel like I'm repeating myself here .....

To have a wallpaper that is created by you , you have to modify a chosen scan , and not editing it only . And by modifying it , I mean make big changes to it , creating something new from it . If you say how much is much , I can't give you a definite answer to that , but in general , it must be so obvious that the viewer sees it differently from an original scan (I don't do much wallpaper myself , so I can't help you much on that) .

I suggest that you click any wallpaper artwork from the wallpaper gallery and read the whole description , and I mean all . Here are a few to give you a clear understanding of what does it take to be called a wallpaper :

It's true that scans can be a desktop wallpaper too . But you must also know that it's done by the artist (famous artists to be exact) who made them and therefore it ends up in the scan section (For MT only . Other sites may be different a bit) . A wallpaper is (to put it simple) basically re-vamping the original scan's look and style , making it more appealing . It is done by less famous but exceptionally good artists , like the ones you're seeing here and at Animepaper . There's a big difference between them , got it ?

There's too much to explain , so I'll leave it as so . If you still got questions , feel free to PM or post a guestbook post , okay ? We're willing to try and help out whenever I got the time ^^ .

As in Ange1us's post, we have a list of these sites. Why do we have to explain why you can't use them? You should go to those sites and read their FAQ. It's not Minitokyo's job to talk about the FAQ and rules of other sites - but they all have one thing in common - their rules of use state that you can use their scans for making wallpapers, but you cannot take their scans (even if you edit them) and submit them elsewhere as scans.

If you ever try doing artwork post it here on the Sandbox before you post it, like how you did for this thread. But please think about it first and at least try to tick off the Policy - "did I do this? Oh yes I did - I should fix this" - use your personal judgement before throwing up something and just asking people "is this acceptable?" - you should be at a stage where you can understand the gallery and the Policy enough so that people shouldn't tell you. It's okay if you do this for maybe the first 20 times - but what about after that? I wouldn't expect people to be telling you if it is or not because it's like you're not even trying to evaluate yourself.

Like I said and what Ange1us said, just look at the gallery, download a few works, read their descriptions and look at how they're done. It's the easiest way to learn and you don't have to keep wondering what happened. If you're really keen on learning, you would download 1 elite gallery item, 1 normal gallery item and 1 highlighted item and then compare it to your own work. Place the work on a scale and try to figure out why each is what. I'm not trying to be mean here, I'm trying to help you understand this website - whether or not you choose to take this advice is purely up to you.

Again even though you say you read the Policy and FAQ, I highly doubt you went through the whole list. Seems like you completely missed the list of what not to do in a wallpaper.

You may not request that your submissions be added to the Elite Gallery.

The following criteria determine the inclusion of artwork in the Elite Gallery:

Completed artwork which shows no immediately apparent or significant technical or compositional weaknesses.
Artwork that demonstrate thoughtful incorporation of a variety of techniques, proper placement of focal point, balanced composition, and expression of concepts or emotions.
Proper descriptions must be included for consideration for inclusion in the Elite Gallery. Proper descriptions should generally include: number of layers, brushes/effects/techniques used, links to scans or stock images in the submission, proper credit to members for scans/scan websites/vectors, collaborating artists if relevant, difficulties and obstacles encountered in creating the artwork, time spent, and the artist's personal judgment on how effectively the piece achieve the original concepts.

You may not submit drawings done on lined notebook paper or other unsuitable stationery.
You may not submit digital photographs of your drawings. All doujinshi submissions must be properly scanned using a scanner.
Vector Art
Vector art must be created using appropriate vector graphics software. You may not submit works that use filters or other image editing tools which mimic vector graphics.

If you can talk about artist visionary, then I'm assuming that you have 100% knowledge of what you're talking about.
If we delete something off you it's because your work didn't satisfy at least one of the points above. Really, just doing one of those things you shouldn't do can get your wallpaper deleted, depending on how it's done. We're not deleting because we take one look and think "oh, I don't like this." - We actually mark your work against this list. This is the minimum benchmark, and we endeavour to keep this fair and consistent for all gallery submissions.

But still, I'm not very convinced you ever read the Policy or FAQ in full depth and tried to at least understand it, sorry.

thank you this was very helpful yet it will take time I will have to think it over. Yet if I can make wallpaper using the criteria as for the last sacn there was no doubt it would be deleted that is why I didn't say a word until now. I will make note of the rule:
