Ohisashiburi minna-san!
A quick mini-lesson in time for February (Nigatsu) and Valentine's Day-- basic likes and dislikes!
When we talk about "likes" in Japanese we use the term "suki" (pronounced: Skee)
Watashi wa Pocky ga suki desu.
I like Pocky.
Many times if you are talking about yourself, the "watashi wa" part can be left off.
Pocky ga suki desu!
(I) like Pocky!
You can also use "suki" to talk about how you or someone else feels about a person.
Anata ga suki desu.
I like you.
Rika-san wa Tomas-san ga suki desu.
Rika likes Tomas.
In addition, using the prefix dai- will convey a greater level of "like", without going so far as "love". The prefix dai- is basically translated as "big".
Anata ga daisuki desu!
I like you a lot!
Niku ga daisuki desu!
I really like meat.
-----
The opposite of "suki" would be "kirai" (kee-rye).
That said, the opposite of "daisuki" would be "daikirai". ^_~
Justin Beiber ga kirai desu.
I dislike Justin Beiber.
Yuki ga daikirai desu!
I hate snow!

Your Task!
Pretty easy, in the comments below (and using the vocabulary you know from past lessons), let's talk about things
we like and dislike! ^_^
