So, I guess I made this thread at the wrong time....

Well, one music video that I've always liked is for Korn's song "Here to stay." Or at least the version that appeared on MTV several years ago. There's another one that doesn't have all the stock footage (or whatever you would call it) and it just doesn't have the same effect, imo.

It's kinda strange how it has scenes of big mobs but the lyrics seem to have more to do with inner turmoil and anger ("take my face and bash it into a mirror so I won't have to see the pain"). Also it has a kid watching all this on TV and he seems to be excited by the music video and reacting to it by being all tense and apparently not blinking. At the end he goes into the TV. I'm not sure what to make of that personally, maybe the whole thing is how TV numbs us to all the stuff we see? There are also parts in the music video where they show common phrases you would maybe see in the news or just on tv in general ('paid programming' for example).

Anyway, there's the link to the video. Warning for language.

The video and the lyrics to Korn's "Here to Stay" actually relate to each other,in the way that the lyrics describe the emotions felt from witnessing the mobs senseless destructive acts. As for the lyric you posted ("take my face and bash it into a mirror so I won't have to see the pain"), that is to make clear the torturous frustration within the guys head, and te release he wants from the pain. Where the kid fits into all this, is probably a visual statement, though I'm not sure what the exact statement is...

^ you thought it was nice and lovely? haha. I guess that's one way to look at the video.

@rooney: (sorry for late response) that's what I meant, the lyrics talks about inside his head rather than the outer violence in the clips shown. I suppose the fact that he wants to bash the mirror though shows that the inner pain leads to the outer violence.

Another video!

Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel"...lol.

First of all I guess I find it kinda funny that the girl in the video seems annoyed with all the attention she is getting walking down the road (specifically from Michael Jackson) which makes sense seeing as Michael Jackson starts humping the air several times. I find it funny cuz she's dressed kinda like a prostitute (not that I would know lmao) walking around in what appears (or at least I assume) to be a less than upstanding neighborhood. Like, what it she doing? haha.

It's also interesting that at the end of the video (after a random dance number) her and Michael just hug. I mean, he was humping the air not more than minute ago and then they just hug like he's comforting her after something bad happened.

The way you make me feel, by Micheal Jackson, is a song about meeting a girl, taking her out to a club, and then sleeping with her afterwards. Seriously, he's air-humping in the middle of the video, while at the end, he's hugging her. Doesn't that seem a wee bit suggestive if you think about it?
