Haven't touched that game in a long time. But when I did, it was Ivy, Voldo, Nightmare.
i only play the PS2 one and i only use one character, but if i had to pick 3 they would be
Nightmare- my main character
Taki- i'm actually pretty good with her
Raphael- never used him but he would be my 3rd character if i had to pick
For the Xbox version
Mitsurugi- lol rhymes with Hiten Mitsurugi style!
Spawn- such a cheap ass character especially his fireball technique
Talim- no comment lol!
If I recall correctly, my three favorites were -
1. Yoshimitsu
2. Mitsurugi
3. Kilik

I have the Gamecube version....the top three I use the most I guess would be:

Mitsurugi
Yunsung
I'm weird. I'm good with weird characters.
1. Taki (She can chain combos which can kill you in like 3 secs with a joke wep, no joke)
2. Assassin (Assassin is really good)
3. Ivy
I have gc but I'm still prominent in any other system. Ivy's best on gc though :\
I've got the Gamecuber version, and Talim is definitely my best character, followed up by Mitsurugi and probably Link.
mmm....i'd say my best three would be Mitsurugi, Nightmare and voldo. voldo is hilarious

Wow, lots of Nightmare and Mitsurugi players here.
I used to play on Gamecube at my friend's house all the time. I guess the character I play the most are Mitsurugi, Cassandra and Asteroth.
for my gamecube, i always pick Ivy, i used to use sophitia and mitsurugi ..hmm
she can be the best one, if you push her buttons right ;)

I've played the Gamecube version,so my top three characters are:
1.Link(you would so get own'ed when I playing as him,I'll go Super Smash Bros. on ya!)
2.Nightmare(Moves slow,but if I can catch you off guard I plowing you over the head with his sword)
3.Tie:Talim and Cassandra(for some reason,I have an obesseion with the cute,quick characters.I pretty good with both as
long as I can chain their moves fast enough to piss someone off).
