white-zero has yet again told me of rips on Hongfire, after bringing it back.
Well, for one thing, it doesn't look good - not much better than it did before.
I think you guys should know.. so...

I've done some intensive ripper hunting today. I've been through just about every page, and I've got most of the obvious ones, but I cannot guarantee that I got every rip.

Feel free to add as much as you want to the list ^^

PS - the links above should work perfectly well (unless already deleted), but you won't be able to view it unless you are logged into the Hongfire Network.

It's ripped from redxxii of Mercurial Design. In fact, I think all of the wallpaper in Serj's gallery are ripped since they have different credits at the bottom. It's one thing that they're from different wallers. I can't believe he has face to rip from people.

Yup. That's true. Fortunately, my girl is a member there and often checked on the torrents section until she actually browsed the wall gallery. Even a few of mine were there. But that's because there's no RIPPERS WILL DIE!!! notification there.

That's an inevitable fact. I suspect that most mods of other sites don't have the capacity/resources/time/interest to check for 'rips'. Besides, many galleries do not belong to art communities like MT. They are devoted to sharing stuff that people get from wherever.

People on MT want to gain fame, levels, and feedback from their work here. It's a slap in the face when people take the work without permission and upload it to other sites. However, there is really no way to prevent it (without killing MT). With the possible exception of making MT such a dominant source of walls that no one would even bother with other galleries.

Ok, what's the problem? Why do you think that all walls posted in hongfire's gallery must be done by posters themselvs. There's HongFire Wallpaper Battle Arena - a place where we're allowed to put pics only made by us. There's another thing : reposting someone's pics - doublepost. I didn't say a word that I have anything to do with posted by me pics. I like them and want other members to see them. This is actualy the whole concept of the gallery. You can see a name of creator and where it came from on a wallpaper. All rights reserved. If that's what you were worried so much.

Listen, I don't give a damn about the battle arena and I don't mind seeing you post a few walls from MT but when you started FLOODING the whole gallery without the creators permission, that's just PLAIN WRONG. And you don't even put in any credits in you description. THAT's the LEAST you can do.

i guess once we've posted something on the internet... it's just hard to prevent the others will rip/steal them... i know most of the member in mt are working very hard for their walls... but people are just people... i understand how stupid and unthinking people can be... have to know how to deal with them when we've came across to these kind of troublemaker...
