Gundam00 - its cuts alot of redundant speeches compared to previous series and much better coordinated animations.
Kyrios =)
Macross Frontier - Right mix of good action and a unexpected, decently executed plot.Ghost V9, though it only appeared during the final episode. =p

Neon Genesis Evangelion would be my favorite mecha anime. Second would be a tie between Code Geass and Fafner. Third would be Sky Girls.

I haven't seen that many aside from Gundam Wing and Jinki Extend. If I had to choose, I would pick the latter for the moe-appeal of the characters. :)
