i'm trying to get a 'smilling retardedly like flower' feel. the kinda of... idiotic grin with lots of
rainbow sunshine and flowers in the background. somehow i don't think i've really achieved it :/

Okay, well since you haven't submitted this yet, I'm guessing you're still open to critiques! However, I don't know which version to comment on because there are like, nine of them. I would just pick which one you put the most effort into / the one you like the most and submit it.
Just like Bromithia said, we don't know which one to critique since you gave us 9 versions!
- But the one that catches my eye is the 9th version.
It's simple but it focuses the viewers eyes on the main character.
the other ones are okay, but I find my eyes staring on the background instead of the character itself!
So if it is up to me I would focus more on developing version 9.

I like the colours of v7, but the vertical stripes don't really work with the composition. Maybe have it like in v9, or have the colours be radiating out from the foreground (like, green outline outside the white, then the purple around that, then the pink around that etc). I think I like that one also because of the texture :)
or, you can go with v9, but make the colours less bright, so that they don't compete with the pink of the foreground.

I my opinion v8 and v9 look the best ^^ the colors are really bright and "happy" what gives to the image life:D
