Lately it has been very slow downloading and Loading
Wondering What's Wrong?

Maybe the web servers they are using are on maximum capacity and are attempting to serve an unusually large number of traffic (hopefully most of them are actual users not bots and hacks) at that time period. Too many anime freaks and otakus in this world now (yes I'm one of them unfortunately), and all are meeting up on the Internet and socialising on these sort of websites.

I believe the population of anime watchers and players are growing at an increasing rate, what with the Japanese anime industry producing a large amount of them per year, some pretty successful such that is worth sharing to the Western world, and thus creating more anime watchers and more anime socialising.

So yeah, I've been encountering slow communication and sometimes even webpages with internal server error messages from time to time. I'm pretty sure you aren't the only one encountering this sort of problem, so rest assured you are not alone.

thats very true goldpan anime seems to be taking the world by storm

hay its good to be an anime freek its just theres sooooooo many of us out there there isent enuff minitokyo to go around

i think till its tome for an server bandwith upgrade well just have to bare with it

by any chance airjack do you also get an 500 internal server error?

well, it all works just fine on my PC. ask your Internet provider if they are having some troubles.

True, the page on my server goes very slow, it takes to load, it is also slow to upload a comment, or download an image, although there are times when I open the page, get an error or something, and very annoying this situation, sometimes I prefer not to enter the site by this problem, we should have much patience for that, and the speed of my modem is not low ...
It is a megabyte, and yet I have to wait about three minutes to fully load the page.

The best of this world, besides a good book, is not to think too much ...

I thought it was just my internet's problem, but turns out, others have this problem too eh.

And yes, i noticed the slow pacing of the web page. I tried downloading my favorites artwork and wallpapers, but it was uber slow. Sometimes when it finished loading, the image didnt show up and it caused an error. In the end i couldnt download what i wanted, even when i tried to refresh multiple time.

I also noticed that Zerochan.net seems to be hosted by the same server as MT. For example the loading pace and downloading, they're slow and takes quite sometimes.

Now i'm just hoping for a fix to this loading issue =/, but then again, it's outa be busy for the ppl who are fixing these, so just let them take their time, it'll be back to normal sooner or later.

I have noticed that lately when I try to download images it'll time out and I wont get the image at all (which is a little frustrating since it means I wasted a credit for nothing) or I get the 500 Internal server error. At first i thought it was just my computer but if other people are having similar problems then I guess its the site itself. like nodox900 said. Just have to be patient. XD

I'm curious...

The mods were looking into issues to do with both speed and images not completely downloading... Anything ever come of that?

Yes, it's a problem with the ISP. Sheqel has mentioned he will look for a new ISP once the contract with the current one expires in a few months. There are more details in this month's Maigetsu at http://forum.minitokyo.net/t68004 (under the B/Mailbag section)

when i come minitokyo pictures dont show? my computer dont show the pictures and i cant download! i wonder whats the problem?

IMO, a bandwidth throttling/traffic shaping device of the hosting company/Internet Service Provider where Minitokyo has its image files hosted is the cause of the access problems.
