Why? You're asking why? Because whenever I surf the net, the guy that used the PC before me probably visited some porn site that supports spyware. Now, when I log in, all sorts of smut goes up in my face. Such embarrassment!!!

People actually start to take Internet security and computer maintenance seriously now.
Its not a problem anymore if you know what you are doing.
If you look at it spywayre is just a commercialized version of military monitoring software but spyware is limited in only retrieving data and tracing your move. But different advancements now already makes it possible for intruding software to install other products without the user's confirmation. A silent install of a kind.
My computer has been screwed up by spyware an ungodly amount of times. I wish to stab the person who created it in the eye!
The problem with spyware is that nobody really regualtes the creation of it. At least as far as I know. Who knows what a spyware program could be carrying!

I hate spyware . Unfortunately, its unrealistic for any one government to police the internet to remove things like spyware. Thankfully, lots of free third party softwares are very good at cleaning the stuff up.

However, personally, I operate a crusade against it.
It's a blessing for two reasons. First, it has reminded people how vulnerable they are to viruses, reminding them to be more secure and to use firewalls. Secondly, I have made hundreds of dollars removing spyware from businesses' computers.

Judging from the current status of spyware infections the entire digital world is going through, you guys must be profiting alot these days. Just how many suckers do you remove from a computer in a single job?
normally, my experience has been (per office, total) an average of a hundred or so per computer, some far more, some far less. Often they also have trojan horses which are either part of the spyware or get in through vulnerabilities created by the spyware.

And to think that they pay so much for antivirus and anti-spyware utilities.
spyware is nothing but a piece of crap along with spam, the person who created it should be in hell. spyware seems to be like a beta run for the next generation of viruses.

the biggest problem is that some of the security holes are unpatchable. Security flaws are an inevitable element of the way MS designed their OS in the name of "convenience".
