All the adults are screming, TO many violnt games and movies. Hentai is bad, and some hentai is considerd child porn( which i serously think is the most retarded thing i've heard...serously...there not REAL ho is it childporn) kk anyways. Adults and parents blame them for the childrens behavoir and how our socity is. But i honestly think its denial, they just want somebody to blame and begin to believe it. They always want somebody else to blame....they allways want someone to blame. But lets look at japan and Hong Kong.

japan is the maker of pretty much all hentai and violent games. They have hentai stores and conventions on it and huge advertizements and new games for them all the time. Violent vidoes game come from there to. blood, gore, mechs and killing. and there hentai consists of ALOT of lilcon, also what north amerca considers (child porn) as well.....u know..... So japan seems to be the sickest country, violence....hentai...porno....hentai with lil girls....tenticals...lol. If what everybody is screaming it so true. Why does japan have have the worlds LOWEST crime/suicide/rape rate (so just general all crime) in the world for technologicly advance city?

Lets look at Hong Kong. If you've been to Hong Kong you well know its almost the same as japan, tokyo, just....alot dirtier...Hentai shops, Anime shops, illegal DVDs, porno shacks, malls made JUST for them. Cheap cheap, huge gaming stoes everywhere. On every street block in hong kong there is 4book stands outside, each selling porn mags along with hentai and fashion and cosmtic mags out in the open. They sell them to minors as well, even though there not suppost to sell it to people under 18....it says on the book in chinese and english. Manga stores populat HK like swams of bugs. Violent game conventions. And illegal pirating everywhere. Super jamed packed, yet there crime rate is right after Japan. So why....? I dont know, im asking you.

Lets take a look at murders as it goes for violent gaming and movies.

Hong Kong 0.00550804 per 1,000 people
Japan 0.00499933 per 1,000 people
United States 0.042802 per 1,000 people

large diffrence...even though hong kong and japan have no cencoring to what games are released...yet only 20% of released games make it into North America. AND NO HENTAI. hmmm.... i'm not saying its all good, but i think the source of the problem lies else where....but im serously asking...where?

Let's assume (and it is highly likely) that in the countries/cities mentioned the media ratings board is totally active and there's no way a minor could possibly get a hold of M-rated material other than illegal means. By the time one turns 18 or 21 and finally gets a hold of M materials, his/her core of values is pretty much set. Untouchable, if I may say so. I bet even the most mind-shattering of mature games won't affect the individual to a level that will drive him/her to commit a crime.

So, the problem does lie somewhere. It in one's upbringing, most likely.

If the cases where the parental generation wants to continue being lazy and depend on video games or other electronic distractions whenever they don't want to handle their own children, then yes, violence in games and other media is going to be a problem. Is that the fault of said violent media? Not really.

The problem is not with your average hentai and violent video game players. It's the more extreme people who take it out of context. (Practicing/acting their fantasies on real children and real shootings) And then the media flocks in and then conservatives scream how decadent our society is. The substantially lower murder rate in Japan and Hong Kong can be attributed to many different things; I really don't think hentai and violent games can be considered a significant (or at least dominating) influence in changing the murder rate. However, this doesn't apply for less inimical crimes such as robbery, rape, etc. which maybe more directly connected with hentai and video games.

The Source of Crime? Poverty, Dysfunctional/Abusive Families, and Nuts. Lots and Lots of Nuts.

every likes to play the blame game. have you ever noticed that parents are full of shit. it seems to come with the job. like if the kid turned out bad, they had nothing to do with it. "It's those kids he hangs out with. They're a bad influence". but if the kid is a winner, they're the first out there tying to grab some credit " yes, we made sure he had a good childhood". i could really care less about the hentai, although if somebody started bitching about it near me i'd probably punch them in the gut. but the video games argument is just stupid. first of all people are violent, with or without influence. its human nature. men who beat their wives never played violent video games. the only video game they had was pong and pac-man. The closest thing to a violent video game in those days was super mario bros. second of all, if the parents were responsible enough they wouldnt let their kids play them. why ruin it for everybody just because you dont have the time to watch your damn kid. same thing with the porn. thirdly, little kids cant buy mature video games without the parents. or at least they shouldnt be. and finally, even if they raised the rating age they can only raise it to age 18. the mature rating is 17. wow, a whole year. i never knew someone can go from potential killer to a law abiding citizen in a year.

well most of it its the kid and their friends fault, when i play a game its not like i go crazy and go shoot people in the street (for example kids that played gta, there are a lot of cases), i just considerit a fun game with which you waste your time because its worth it, and i think violence in games aint all that bad cuz in reality its the same, if you punch someone he bleeds or shoot someone etc. if it wasnt violence games werent played, about hentai dunno what to say, but my decision is that its the kids fault cuz he chooses what to do or not.

Ya i know, but its not just murder rate the crime for evrything in HK and Japan are lowest including rape and i never heard of child porn issue in either. Do you think perhaps because of porno and hentai they dont have cravings for the real thing? like......it prevents them from doing so? i realy dont think they should consider any hentai child porn....its just stupied. It is true, child porn is sick. And the parents are wrong at some point : there are people who play violent games and see hentai and act perfectly normal. Their behavior depends directly on the way they are raised. Of course, violent games and hentai can influence some people, but what I'm trying to say here is that they don't influence EVERYBODY!

The thing is, the crime is proportional to population, but the proportion is most likely determined by what the people believe, and the tolerance level for crime. If people are unwilling to commit crimes, then crime rates are likely to go down.

I actually believe that the aforementioned materials are not influencing society as greatly as we think. It is more likely that the materials are a direct reflection of society, and how it has either degraded or grown more brazen. Using this view, it seems that these things are not detrimental to our society, but do provide a warning. Of course, one could say that seeing such things could influence a person to act out what they see. To this, it can be said that if society didn't tolerate it, then it wouldn't exist, or thrive.

This being either "good or bad," remember that everyone affects our society, not just a single group. Thus, anyone has the right to attempt to shift it one way or the other, positively or negatively, both of which are based on a person's opinion.

I agree with many of the comments here. Nobody wants to be responsible so they shift the blame to someone or something else. I also agree that crime is proportional to population. A country with more citizens will have more crimes per 1000 people than a country with fewer citizens.

yea i know, but even if taken america and japan/hong kong into it and time the number of people to match america's numers the crime rate still goes nowhere close to USA. when thoughs countries are the source of of the stuff, being huge commercail cities. Crime rate doesn't always have to do with all these things. It could be how the people are raised and who influences them. Yes, it could be bad for our society. Just like how Hentai and Porn are sick especially when it comes to child pornography. That is just horrible and downright disgusting. From what i hear, Japanese (sometimes Chinese students) in Japan and Hong Kong suicide because of marks. Murdering, i think that the porn would keep them busy fantasizing so they wouldn't really cause any trouble.

Violent gaming, it acts for like a stress ball where you put your stress into and enjoy yourself. It would help the body enjoy itself for the time being.

Movies, well, it just shoves scenes in your face. In your face, you get a camera that is always moving and you just don't have the time to think and you are "influenced" by the actor's belief's (the character in the movie) and maybe other things. It causes bad influences though rendering you incapable of thinking and only "feeling" that what the person is doing, is GOOD.

The thing is, it isn't all that great but it sits on the boarderline of good and bad. Good because it would keep people busy and enough not to cause any trouble. It could be a reason why the North America has more crime than Japan/Hong Kong. I'm not saying it is but it could be part of it. Now, the bad part is when it is taken to the EXTREME. This means porn goes to child porn, people acting on emotions and PHYSICALLY doing all those things like going to rape, kill and all other stupid things.

Sometimes, it could be the person. (Mental problems, anger channeling, other stuff)

Violent and sexually explicit entertainment are at their worst a necessary evil. It can be argued that pornography is not in itself necessary but the freedom to enjoy it is absolutely vital to the human condition. Liberty is paramount and it is of utmost importance that no force, government included, restricts it. Plenty of people are offended by violence and sex; in fact you might even argue that the world would be a better place without them. But you know what? I don't care about what is good and neither should you. It's right to retain freedom. It's right to exercise freedom. It's right to cherish freedom. My rights do not come from the government and they do not come from the law. They came from the very breath of God Himself. I could care less if my freedom offends some ignorant tightwad, because there is no justifiable reason why freedom should ever be restricted in favor of happiness. I am slave to no man and no man is slave to me. We are endowed with our intelligence to make decisions for ourselves, and not for others. It is right even when it is not good. Where a communist might try to make his people as happy as possible, it is much more important to assure each person is as free as possible. Let liberty be first and happiness come second. Until then, I will watch gory slasher movies and watch pornography if it pleases me. I invite you to write in my guestbook.
