I've been happy all my life. I have no idea what it is like to be depressed enough to want to kill yourself. So no, I don't think suicide is worth it. But I'm guess I'm in no position to talk. I just think that it's not fair to yourself to stop hoping and end your life. Whatever it is that is so bad in your life, I think it'll eventually get better. So we should always give ourselves a second chance to hope that it'll get better.....because sooner or later, it will.

I've been THAT depressed to think about it myself. I still believe, no... suicide isn't worth anything. Its quitting. Why quit on life? Yes, life is unfair... but why not try to be against the flow? Why not make a slight hopeful try? Why not live, so that when you are older... you'll have made a difference in someone else's life?
Try to make yourself better, try to live unlike anyone else before, want to prevail, want to prove yourself wrong, choose living. Why give up something so precious? I'm glad I didn't decide to do what my brain had thought... if I had... my parents, grandparents, sister and brothers, friends, and my now boyfriend would miss me terribly. I wouldn't have met my bf of 5 years or all the wonderful people since those thoughts.
What a waste it would've been to have died without knowing all the wonderful things that I've experienced to now... to not have lived and experienced how I have lived. I'm glad to be alive, and I hope you are too. Thanks for reading my post. :D I hope your life is wonderful, your future can mean hope for us all. ;)

no good. suicide's not/never worth it.
people usually want to commit suicide because, they say, the world is harsh, they can't take the pain, and so on.
but if they really want some change with what they're experiencing, why would they commit suicide? how would things change for them if they die already?
anyway, suicide is rather an excuse than an answer.

No suicide isn't worth it why kill yourself then the person that hurt you the life that hurt you... won.Suicide isn't worth it in any cost and its not a matter of selfishness.
Its no ones life but yours so who's being selfish but the people saying "You should stay alive killing your self is selfish"
Now thats selfish they don't belong to you and making their own choice about life is their own but still in that aspect I still believe Suicide is not worth it.

If you die, you can never fix any thing. No matter how bad the situation is, if you die it will never get better, and you remove all chance of it ever getting better.The only exception for this is people who have terminal diseases and are in great pain and are just counting the days till they die.

It always sounds like a good idea in some situations, but when I think about it for the hundredth time it doesn't sound too hot anymore.
In any case, suicide's a bad idea if it's based on some self-serving emotion.

It may be a small number but 2 people agreeing to suicide and 9 people unsure is just scary.
Just remember that most of you aren't living in Japan. Not many can last long there and may resort to suicide. Not that it isnt right but that it isnt the best way to deal with life. Don't expect everything to turn out good in life. When it doesnt, seek moral support from family and friends b'coz they care and will try to help you as you're not alone.

Hmmm.... well.... it really doesn't help, plus, it becomes impossible to solve your problems. Yeah, some problems may be severe, and you may think you cant find an answer, but finishing your life and leaving all just like it is, will only create sadness on those who are around you, and will leave problems unsolved.

Most definitly not worth it. Suicide is mostly an attempt to escape the pain of living. But as said before, you'd have to be pretty selfish to do so. You would be leaving behind the pain that you had to go through in life but at the same time you'd be causing pain of all the people who love and care about you.
People who commit suicide, I think, were never cut out for living in the first place. If someone kills themselves, it means that they aren't mature enough to deal with the issues that life gives. We all have to deal with problems.

If they want to do this ... people had the right to choose . if they want to leave is nothing bad about this. think about it . if your best friend doesnt talk at all , and is sad , not smiling .... do you really want a friend like this ? Of course you`ll all say YES cause is next beside me . But stay with her for months , maybe ages.

People who do commit suicide are usually in the last threads of hope for a good world and a world they are part of... something like that. I mean, I imagine if I didnt have family, friends, material possessins, money, purpose, or goals to accomplish, or anything worth accomplishing or protecting, I might even think its not worth living.
But still, with so much strength from love and hardship, it makes me want to live to a hundred.

But maybe you will be interested to hear me? As I am an atheist, my opinion is rather little related to God. I just think to suicide is just what a coward will do. Few people can live a smooth life, those who think they suffer so great, even greater than the limit to sustain, so they have a reason to suicide, is really coward, really. In my hometown, many people experienced the nation-wide starvation of 1959-1962, then the 10-years turmoil in 1966-1976. Reformation of State-owned enterprises starts from 1998 again makes so many people unemployed. And there are 8-years anti-japanese war, 3-years civil war, 1950 anti-right campaign, 1956 campaign of people's communes, almost all elders are involved. In the hardest time in 1962, so many people are starved to death that people who still alive had to eat dead men. They are hungry, yet no rice can be found, even tree barks and grasses were eaten up. In that year my father is 12-years-old, my grandfather walked a way more than 10km to work for other communes for one day, just for a handful of rice. But that is the food for whole family to maintain 3 or 4 days. Isn`t it hard time? Yet so many people went through the starvation. As regards the 10-years of chaos in 1966-1976, I think any history book related to modern China will talk more than I can in this forum.
A song that people in Canton often sing says, "Life likes the waves, sometimes it rises, sometimes it falls." I really appreciate the words. A man who expect always smooth is really a selfish man; He just believe the world exist only for him, the Sun turns only for him. So I can never say yes to anybody who likely to suicide.
But though they choose that way to "solve" their problem, few can I say. It`s their own choice. And choice - regardless of religious factor, is their freedom. So they choose, to leave pains to their relatives, their families, their friends. So they are also cruel people. Why I should show my sympathy to such cruel people, especially they are also murderers?

Suicide is not really selfish, but I mean if you die, you'll be in a more peaceful place. I mean you don't have to make desicions, or have to stress about things anymore. There are "positives".

Hm... well the stoics thougth that suicide was a valid choice under certain conditions... not only valid but sometimes the only "right" choice... some people might now want to scream out that the stoics were dumb etc pp... but the stoic philosphy is quite wise and mature...
What I want to say is, that one shouldn't despise people who commit suicide (like some here seem to do) - they certainly don't do it just because it's fun T_T
But imho suicide is not worth it, normally there is a way out of the crisis the person "in question" is experiencing... she/he just can't see that in her/his desperation...- Jul 05, 2007

My cousin took her own life some years back and left two little kiddies and their dad behind. Believe me, taking your own life like that really does cause your family a lot of pain. We all still miss her.

Suicide...well...it's wrong..yes i agree...but to some people it's the only way to get rid of problems...but it won't solve it...though some think it does tend to 'solve' problems...call me crazy...but i have tried it...when i thought no one liked me...n o one understood me...then one person tended to stop me...my best friend..but then a few months ago..something horrible happened, she died in a car accident...but i remembered what she told me about dieing...and what my onii san told me about dieing...suicide. they said why would you kill youself if you didn't even see half the world yet...if you didn't meet new people who do care about you plus if you do kill yourself for pain and you think you cause others pain..then what do you think would happen when you die. ...i say that others around you will suffer and then you'll cause them more pain then you could ever cause them when you were alive...^_^ I stopped...well hoped i stopped one of my friends from suicide ^_^ just like mine did to mee and a god wanted to use my friend to teach that drunk driver a lessonn ^___^ she said that if she does die that we promise to always be best friends and we'll live our life out completelyy...i promisedd and i won't break it ^^
