*His fellow group members give Oriya a questioning look*

Oriya: "Myeah. Might just be my imagination though. But for a sec, I really thought that this teen looked like my older brother Nowa when he was 16."

Vexx: *places his hand on Oriya's shoulder* "You've been out in the sun too longh, Oriya. Your brain is starting to get overheated. Could of course be due to 'other things' than just the hot weather, ne." *playfully sticks out his tongue*

*While the others playfully tease the young Ketashi a bit too, Kuro is the only one noticing the soft blush on his face that Cody is trying to cover*

Kuro: "Well, I think it's better we continue our road again. The sun will set soon, and I'd prefer to be by the edge of the forest before it's dark. That way, we'll have enough time to eat, rest and sleep before we start crossing the forest tomorrow."

Cody: "I'll come along with you."

Lillith: "Hold on a second, kid. You're a complete stranger, was just caught spying on us from the bushes, won't tell more about who sent you and why. And now, you expect us to let you come along with us ?!" *makes a "no way" gesture with her hand*

Kaiji: "I agree with Lillith. We have absolutely no idea of who this kid is."

Cody: *with his long ears defensively lowered* "Oi, stop calling me a kid ! It's not as if you bigshots are much older than I am. Besides, I can help you get to your destination safely."

Kuro: "Hmm"

Eagleye: "Don't tell me you're going to allow the kid to come with us, Kuro ?! How do we know if we can trust him ?"

Cody: "OI ! Stop ca... Eh ?!"

*Everybody, including Cody, is stunned when Kuro is standing right in front of the young stranger. None of them saw the emerald haired demon move.
Kuro has hold a grab of Cody's right arm, and is holding the teenager's hand close his neck, sharp nails ready to pierce through Kuro's skin. Kuro's somewhat scary yellow eyes look at Cody as if wanting to tell him to kill. Cody gives Kuro a bewildered stare, and violently snatches his arm free*

Cody: "What the f... ?! Are you insane ?!"

*A satisfied smile appears on Kuro's face*

Kuro: "That's the reply to your question, Eagleye."

Eagleye: "Eh ?"

Kuro: "If Cody would've been an enemy, he could have bared his claws and killed me in a second."

Cody: "Why the hell should I kill you ?! You're the one that's going to save us all from HIM."

Kuro: "So, you know about HIM and what he's up to ?!

Cody: "..."

Kuro: "Strange how you keep everything such a big secret.
Well, although you're acting a bit mysteriously, I'll allow you to join us for a while. I have a feeling you're able to help us, as you said you were."

*The other group prepares to fight off the rapid wolfs heading towards them*

Sakura: "There's so much of them !"

Akira: "Yeah, which is weird."

*Everybody notices the grave expression on the young ex-Satan's face*

Chronos: "Something seems to bother you."

Akira: "I know this part of the Eastern Region really good, from back when I was still the lord of the Underworld. It's highly unusual to see this type of wolf demons in this particular part of our world. Even though I've been locked up for 18 years, there's no way these demons have been able to adept themselves to living here, not even during all this time."

Archior: "So you mean they have been dropped here by somebody ?"

*Akira narrows his purple eyes and points his long ears up*

Akira: "It looks as if somebody doesn't want us to get to HIM in time."

Akira"Why are you here? Who sent you?"

Lead Wolf"We weren't sent as you think. Lately strange creatures have appeared and are devouring the prey in our normal hunting grounds. We have to wander this far simply to find food for my pack"

Chronos"It would appear that some is affecting the the natural food chain but it's not HIM he only cares for battle he wouldn't go through all this effort to attack us he come himself."

Akira: "True. I know HIM well enough to see that this isn't his style of working at all. He'll only do things that can provide him the ultimate kick."

Archior: "What normally used to be your hunting grounds ?"

Lead wolf: "We lived and hunted at the other side of the Great Eastern forest. But as I said, we were driven from our land by strange creatures, leaving us no other choice but to cross the forest. Sadly, we lost several of our fellow pack members while doing so."

Akira: "Do you have any idea who might have sent those creatures to your territory ?"

Lead wolf: "I'm afraid not. I hadn't seen demons like that before in my life. They're completely black, and have dark crimson wings, and from what I could tell, they're not very smart, but their powers are not to be underestimated."

Akira: "They're Saga ! A very rare species of demons indeed. Extremely dumb, but very strong and lethal. Seen their normal living area, the one who has sent them must be from the Fire lands, or the Silver forest."

Lead Wolf: "I'm sorry we were about to attack you. It's been days since my pack has had anything decent to eat."

Akira: "No problem. Your info is of great value to our mission."

Lead Wolf: "It's been all my pleasure to be of any help to you, former king."

Akira: "Say, why don't you and your pack join us for dinner. As a way to thank you for your help."

Longshot: "What about our food supplies ?! There won't be enough for us afterwards."

*Longshot's remark didn't please Akira at all. The ex-Satan gives the Quincy an angry stare, his purple eyes cutting Longshot's mind like a sharp blade*

Akira: *with deep voice* "We will find plenty of food for our supplies when we reach the border of the forest, I can assure you. So there's no need to act so self-centred, Longshot."

*The sun is starting to set slowly, dropping a warm red-orange shine over the Eastern lands. Kuro's group arrived at the edge of the forest in time, as planned. While Vexx, Oriya and Cody are searching for food, Kuro is helping Kaiji with setting up a fire and a safe place to spend the night*

Lillith: "You sure we can't help ? I feel so useless."

Kuro: "Nah, no need to. When men are willing to work for you, you'd better enjoy it :D. Take some rest. The next days will be extremely hard. Maybe later on when Vexx, Oriya and Cody get back with some food, you can help me with the cooking." ^^

*Akira utters a frustrated sigh and gives his left ear pendant a soft tap*

Akira: "If that is your choice, then I will respect it. Please take good care of yourselves."

Lead wolf: "Thank you, former king, we will."

Akira: "And as soon as this situation has been neutralized, I promise I will provide your pack with proper new land."

*The wolves leave, saluting our group with their tails, and eventually disappear at the horizon*

Akira: *whispering* "Good luck ..."

*Akira turns around and slowly walks away from the others. They want to follow him, thinking he is continuing the road, but Chronos stops them. He's the only one catching up with Akira*

Chronos: "I'm sure Longshot didn't meant to be contradictory. I know well enough that you know this region and can find us food."

*Akira doesn't immediately react to Chronos' words. He stares at the deep red-orange glow of the sun setting*

Akira: "That's not the point. I don't really have much of a problem with Longshot's 'spicy' behaviour."

Chronos: "You're one of the few I've ever heard saying that." *smiles*

*When Akira turns around, Chronos notices the serious expression on his tanned face*

Akira: "What troubles me is that I haven't been able to help them."

Chronos: "You mean the wolves ?"

Akira: "Yes. As ruler of the Underworld, I had always been helping my people equally, whether they were human type demons like me, or beast type demons. I know my days as a ruler are over, but that doesn't mean I still don't want to help them."

Chronos: "I understand."

Akira: "C'mon, lets go back. Night is starting to fall, and looking at the clear sky, it will be a cold one."

Cody: "Argh ! Let go of me, old woman !"

*Cody bares his sharp fangs, and gives Lillith a hard push. Rubbing his red cheeks, he angrily stares at her*

Kuro: "Ok, knock it off you two !"

*Kuro walks up to Lillith and reaches out his hand to pull her up, but she proudly taps it away and gets up by herself*

Lillith: *snarly* "I'm still young enough to help myself getting up."

Kuro: *playfully sarcastic* "Ok. Don't bite off my nose :D"

Kusuri Uri: "Hooo. This is highly interesting. The clash between youth and the great age."

Lillith: "WHATCH YOUR WORDS, YOU MISFIT COLORBOOK !"

Kusuri Uri: "No problem." *grins and takes a sip of his sake*

Oriya: "Oi oi, what's going on here. We could hear you guys from miles away."

Kuro: "Nothing special. ^^ Welcome back hun." *gives Oriya a big smacker*

Irugu: "So, did you find something to eat ?"

Oriya: "You bet ! Thanks to Vexx' excellent hunter abilities."

*Vexx and Kaiji arrive too, both carrying a large number of dead turkey-like birds. Eagleye looks with somewhat disgusted eyes at Vexx' bloodstained white skin*

Eagleye: "Aww, those pore things."

Cody: -__-'

Oriya: "Well, I also brought along some fruit and veggies, if you don't like meat."

Kuro: "Great job you guys. This'll be plenty enough for the next couple of days."

Vexx: "I'll get these grazed."

Kuro: "Ok. I'll prepare us a nice poultry sauce to make a casserole."

*The leaders daughter apears on screen she's in a lab blood on her hands*

Leader"Is the project done"

"Karen"No but I did cook something up to stall them for ahwhile"

Leader"good have the old man send it on it's way"

*The old man in question is alredy beside Leader*

*The young skinny man appears*

Kuro: "Argh ! ... Hah hah hah... hah..."

*Kuro jumps awake abruptly. Sitting up, his bright yellow eyes wide open, and several drops of sweat running down his face, he looks around. But the only thing he finds are the others of his group asleep. He grabs for his head and buries it firmly into the palm of his right hand*

Kuro: "Pfff. Man, was that a dream or what ?!"

*The young half-breed wants to get up to go get a sip of water, but stops when he feels something warm touching his body. He looks to his left to find Oriya's arm gently wrapped around his waste. Kuro tries to slowly slide the Ketashi's arm away, but it only results in Oriya waking up, uttering a sleepy-head-"Hnnnn"*

Kuro: *whispering* "Oriya ?"

Oriya: "Hnnnnn ..."

Kuro: *whispering* "Are you awake ?"

Oriya: "Hnnnn...yeah."

Kuro: "Ah. Sorry to have woken you up."

*Very slowly, Oriya turns around, rubs his eyes for 'bout half a minute, and lifts himself up*

Oriya: "What's wrong, Ro ?"

Kuro: "Nothing. Just a bad dream. At least ... I think it was a dream."

Oriya: "You think it might've been one of your deja-vu's ?"

Kuro: "Could be. Anyway, it seemed all rather weird."

*Oriya wraps his arms around Kuro's neck and uses his weight to let himself drop down on the demon, who tips over*

Oriya: *with a tired voice* "Don't think about it too much. We have two hard days coming up as from tomorrow, so try to get some sleep."

Kuro: "K. I will, hun."

Oriya: "Nnnn, good ..."

*Oriya now has both arms wrapped around Kuro. His body is warmly tucked against that of the emerald haired demon. With a soft sigh, he easily falls asleep again.
Kuro enjoys the pleasantly warm touch and safe feeling of Oriya's body against him. He stares up at the pitch black sky for about a minute, looking at some clouds passing by in front of the moon. Eventually, he feels his eyes getting heavier. He wraps his right arm around Oriya, as well as his fuzzy tail around the latter's waist and tail, and falls asleep again*

*In the other group, Akira can't seem to catch some sleep. He still feels bad for not being able to help the group of wolfs earlier on. Also, he's worried about the future of the world he once used to rule, now that it's at the edge of being plunged into chaos, war and disaster again.
The young demon, eternally 21 by a strange twist of life, is sitting stripped in a little river, not far away from Chronos' group. The nicely warm water brings a pleasing relaxation to his by stress tensed muscles. With a sigh, he lets his body slide deeper into the water, until only his face sticks out anymore. He stretches out his left arm, and looks at the glow of his wet tanned skin and long nails, provoked by the bright light of the nearly full moon*

Akira: "To think this hand was once stained with the blood of thousands. I swore I never would let that happen again. To never kill so much innocent creatures anymore, freaking out by the scent of their hot blood. But with this new upcoming chaos, I wonder if I'll be able to keep that promise."

*The ex-Satan clenches his fist, and places it on his chest*

Akira: "No. I have to be certain I'll keep that promise. I don't want to be a danger to myself or the others*

[[HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Oriya ! *rolls in the b-day cake and opens the champagne*

There's a little delay of two days (October 2nd), but oh well. ^^ 21's a special age, and I hope you get everything your Ketashi heart wishes for (you already have what you wanted most :D). And I hope you're happy with that extra belly piercing you always wanted, Kuro gave you as a present for your special b-days ^^

*Akira feels himself getting dragged towards the bottom of the river. He's unable to see what or who might be attacking him, since it's too dark to watch clearly. Unable to use chanting under water, he realizes he's going to have to use brute force to free himself*

Akira: *thinking* "F*ck ! What the hell is this thing ? No way I'm letting it drag me to my death."

*Akira's eyes turn bright fire-red. Their glow allows him to vaguely see two tentacle-like arms grabbing him tightly by both legs. His eyes start to radiate an even brighter glow, followed by a massive release of electric jolts. They gracefully swirl down the young demon, avoiding his own body getting struck by the electricity. Ragingly, the jolts bang into the tentacle-like arms, sending thousands of volts through them. Quickly, they let go of Akira's legs. Akira doesn't wait a second and swims upwards as fast as can. Gasping deeply for air, he comes crashing out of the water, and flees for the river shore. There, he lets his soaked body drop on the ground, panting heavily, and coughing up some water*

Akira: "Urgh... *cough* hah hah hah hah *cough ..."

*He stares at the river, as the last remaining of his electricity attack dissolves and spreads out over the water surface. He pulls wide eyes when he suddenly feels an unknown aura filling the air around the river*

Akira: "Wh... Who's there ?!"

*A strange voice comes out of nowhere*

voice: "You were lucky this time, Akira Chaisor. But next time, you won't survive."

Akira: *with a roaring voice* "Who are you ?!"

voice: ...

Akira: "ANSWER ME !"

voice: "I'm afraid I can't tell you that. But you should have other worries on your mind right now."

Akira: "Don't think I'm letting you scare me !"

voice: "Good, good. I hope your son will have as much luck as you did when he faces HIS test."

Akira: *pulls wide eyes* "What ?!"

*Laughing, the voice slowly fades away into the darkness of the night, leaving behind a stunned Akira. Suddenly, Akira hears something in the bushes behind him. He gets up in a flash and unclenches his claws, ready to attack*

Archior: "Stop, it's only me !"

Akira: "Archior ?"

Archior: "Are you ok, Akira ?"

Akira: "Eh ... Ah, yeah I'm fine. What are you doing here ?"

Archior: "I was woken up by your attack, and when I saw you were mission, I followed your aura to find you."

Akira: "Kuro ! We must warn Kuro ! That ... voice, said he is going to be attacked too."

Archior: "Yes I heard everything what it said. But I don't think there's any need to warn Kuro. He's probably asleep right now anyway, so it'll take quite the effort to communicate with him telepathically. Besides, I'm sure bro will be able to handle the situation."

*Akira is clearly worried for the safety of his son, but he nods, knowing that Archior is right*

Akira: "You're right. Kuro's butloads stronger than I am, so he'll be able to protect himself and the others."

Archior: "Yeah. Come on, let's get you back to the camp, so you can warm up by the fire. We don't want ya to catch a cold, standing here ... euhm ..." *turns his eyes away from Akira*

Akira: "? ..."

*Subtle, Archior points downward. Akira utters a big "Uwaaaah !" when he notices he's been standing there the whole time in his nudies*

@ bicashara: Thankies ! ^^ Woah, I can't believe it's already two years since the original RPG started. Dang, it's been that long since I made my very first post and introduced Kuro, who still had black hair and red eyes back then. Aaaahhh, good old memories. :)

Oriya: "Nnnnnn ..."

*Quickly closing his eyes again, as a bright ray of morning sunlight drops down on him, Oriya wakes up. He rubs his eyes and turns around on his belly, so he can stretch his body. The smooth green highlights of his tail's hair softly sparkle in the strong sunlight, as the Ketashi majestically stretches out his impressive tail. After uttering a big yawn, he flips over on his back again. When he feels something soft, gently touching the bare skin of his chest, he opens his poison green eyes, finding them surprisingly staring into the bright yellow ones of Kuro, who is hanging a couple of inches above him.

Kuro: "Good morning, sweetie." *bends over and gives his Oriya a kiss on the forehead*

Oriya: "Heyyyyy ... Mmmnnn. Good morning Ro."

Kuro: "I made us some breakfast, so get your sleepy butt up." ^^

*Oriya gets up and follows Kuro. Eagleye, Lillith, Irugu, Vexx and Cody are already sitting around the improvised table they made last evening, enjoying the food Kuro prepared*

Lillith: *slightly sarcastic* "Did you have a good, QUIET night, Oriya ?"

*Oriya knows what she's implying, and puts up a soft grin while he runs with his hand through his large fringe*

Oriya: "Well, the beginning was rather wild and rough, but afterwards I was tired enough to sleep tightly. Thanks for asking." *winks*

Vexx: "1-1, hahahaha."

Oriya: "Say, this smells really good."

Eagleye: "It IS really good ! Kudos to Kuro for making such a yummy breakfast. It's really very very tasty. And euhm ... so is the view." *looks at Oriya's stripped upper body and gives him a playful wink."

Kuro: "Just tell me if you want more. There's plenty enough, and I want everybody to have enough strength for the next days."

Oriya: "Where are the others btw ?"

Lillith: "The redheads (Luke and Kaiji) are still in dreamland, and the walking colour book (Kusuri Uri) went out to search for some important medicinal herbs, or whatever he was blabbing about."

Kuro: "Well, they still have some time. I think it'd be good if we can leave in about an hour."

Vexx: "How long will it take before we reach the first 'dangerous' spot of the forest ?"

Kuro: "There are some flesh-eating plants close to the borders, but they're too small to attack us. Normally they just eat smaller animals. We should be at ease for about 2 hours. Once we enter the deeper parts of the forest, we'll have to look out for poisonous tentacle plants."

Eagleye: "How do these things attack, and why actually ?"

Kuro: "I think it's more enjoyable not knowing that."

Cody: "O M G ! ... Ewwwww ! ... That old, pervert woman really makes me wanna throw up."

Lillith: "You said WHAT ?!, you little brat ..." *lets go of Eagleye to go give Cody a punch in the face*

Kuro: "OK, KNOCK IT OFF YOU TWO !"

*Everybody keeps still. After his rather load roar, Kuro snatches Cody by the neck and pulls him away from Lillith. He gives both of them an angry stare, and the fact that his fangs are showing and his impressive tail is in a curved position tells them not to mess with the young demon right now*

Kuro: "I'm really sick of you two constantly fighting like two kids who want the same piece of candy. Either you stop this stupid arguing, or I'll have you two sent back. Is that clear ?!"

Cody: "But ..."

Lillith: "Pffff, you don't ..."

Kuro: "But nothing ! End of discussion.
Oh and another thing. Eagleye, you girls will only have to look out not to touch any of those tentacle plants. Like I said earlier, they normally only violate males."

Eagleye: *still panting and blushing a bit* "O... Ok, we'll be careful. But I'm still not feeling all that eased, Kuro."

Kuro: "Don't worry. I've dealt with those things before, so I know what to do. Ok you guys, time to go. We don't wanna arrive too late at the rendezvous point."

*Kuro picks up his bag and enters the forest. The others watch as with an elegant swirl his long tail disappears in between the trees and bushes. Oriya quickly follows. The rest hesitates a bit, but eventually they all pick up their bags too, and enter the forest as well*

Oriya: "You seem a bit grumpy today, Ro. Is there something bothering you ? I mean, I don't want to be nosy ... It's just, I ..."

Kuro: "Heh, it's ok. I'm sorry sweetie. I guess I'm still worrying a bit too much about that vision I had tonight, which is what's getting me pissed-off so easily."

*Oriya remains silent, not really knowing what to say. Suddenly, the Ketashi feels Kuro gently grabbing his hand*

Kuro: "I promise I'll worry and nag a bit less from now on, for you."

Oriya: "Hmm, that's sweet."

*the rest of the group finally catches up with our two lovebirds*

Vexx: "I wonder how the others are doing."

Kuro: "So do I, but we have our own troubles right now. We're about to enter the part with the flesh eating plants, so try to move as gently as possible."

*Kuro wraps his tail around his waist*

Kuro: "Better wrap your tails around your body if you want to have them back in one piece when we get out of this place."

Zezlemet"But I only have to deafeat all the pigs, defeat the secret boss and find"

*Arrow whizzes by Zezlemt*

Longshot"No more excuses now UPDATE !"

*An angry Chibi Cody enters the director's office*

C-Cody: "I'd like to lodge a complaint. Against that crazy old pervert woman."

Director: "Haven't you learnt to knock before entering ?! Now, why would you file a complaint against Lillith ? (heh, he knew immediately who Chibi Cody was talking about :D)*

C-Cody: "She has humiliated me in front of all the readers !"

Director: "Listen, kid, that's part of being a newcomer. Either you learn to live with it, or I can get you replaced by another demon. You're lucky to have this job because of your good looks, keep that in mind !"

C-Cody: "B... But, she tied me up and dressed me like a turkey, and she ..."

Director: "No. End of discussion. Now get out of my office !"

*Frustrated and disappointed, Chibi Cody has no other option but to get out, defeated like a dog that got sticked.
Coming from behind one of the offices corners is Chibi Lillith*

C-Lillith: "Good boy, mister director-san. I think you've earned a little special treat."

C-Kuro: "Dear readers. Due to heavy mature content, we have to censor the next scene."

Laurent: "Oh just continue with the story will ya !"

Eagleye: "Kuro, can we have a five minute break ?"

Kuro: "Sorry Eagleye, but it's better if we don't stop. Otherwise we risk of being attacked. Besides, we've just enter the territory of those tentacle plants I warned about, so stopping is no option now."

*Eagleye utters a frustrated sigh. With a soft pain-filled expression on her face, she rubs her legs. Surprised, she looks up when suddenly Vexx comes walking next to her*

Vexx: "If you want, I can carry you on my back for a little while, until your legs stop hurting."

Eagleye: "Hey ! I'm not a weakling ya know !"

Vexx: "Sorry. I didn't mean to insult you."

Eagleye: "Ah. I know Vexx, sorry. I guess I'm a bit irritated lately."

*The young albino demon greets her with his bright orange-red eyes and a soft, warm smile*

Vexx: "Hey, it's ok. I undertand. You're worried about Longshot and your other friends.
Well, if you would change your mind, my offer is still available."

Eagleye: "Thanks, Vexx."

Akira: "Stop it !"

*Both factions are forced to stop, as Akira came standing in between them, both his arms spread wide open.
The group of wolves immediately stop their charge and bow for him. The surprised harpies on the other hand aren't pleased by this stranger interfering them, and point their sharp claws at him*

Harpy: "Who do you think you are, filthy demon busybody, interfering us and trespassing on our land ?!"

Akira: "Akira's the name. Akira Chaisor."

Harpy: "Chaisor ?!" *puts up a surprised look*

*Meanwhile, Kuro's group has been crossing the tentacle plant territory for about 15 minutes now. So far, the deadly poisonous plants haven't attacked them. They haven't even moved an inch, which is somewhat of a small relief to our young emerald haired clan-leader*

Oriya: *whispering* "Is it normal that these ... 'things' are so quiet ?"

Kuro: *whispering as well* "Yeah. As long as we keep quiet ourselves and watch out with what movements we make, they won't do anything."

Eagleye: "Brrr. This place gives me the creeps."

Lillith: "Maybe I can turn them into pleasant chills."

Eagleye: "This is not the moment for those weak jokes of you, Lillith."

Oriya: "Say, Ro, I was ... Ro ?"

*Kuro suddenly stopped. Oriya spots the severe stare in his partner's eyes. Kuro is keeping Oriya and the others from getting passed his stretched right arm*

Oriya: "Kuro, what's wrong ?"

? voice: "Well well, so you have already spotted me this quickly. That's pretty impressive."

Lei Fong: "Who ... ?!" *rather loud*

Kuro: "Keep still ..."

? voice: "I would indeed do so, heheh. After all, you don't want to attract the attention of all those lovely plants around you, now don't you ..."

Kuro: "Who are you, and what do you want ?!"

? voice: "I'm affraid I can't reply to that first question of yours, mister Kuro. As for that second one, the answer is 'you'."

*Kuro questioningly narrows his eyes, baring his fangs*

? voice: "I'm here to do what should have been done a lot earlier already.
I'm here to put an end to your life, Kuro Chaisor."

Akira: "And what do you think YOU would do when you were driven off your homeland, having nothing to eat ?"

Harpy: "Tsss. Don't think those kind of sentimental questions are of any effect, mister once king."

Akira: "Hmmm, I see. You harpies are still as stubborn as always."

Lead wolf: "I'm sorry, Akira-sama. We didn't want to provoke any kind of riot. But my fellow pack members haven't eaten for weeks, and I am starting to become desperate."

Akira: "I understand. In fact, I have some really good news for you."

*A somewhat grin-like smile suddenly appears on the demon's face as he gives the harpies a short, somewhat teasing stare with his bright purple eyes, and then turns back towards the leader wolf*

Akira: "After our last encounter, I have contacted my son Kuro, who is the current leader of the Southern Region."

Wolf: "THE Mahitojo clan ?!"

Akira: "Yes. He has no objection against you going to the clan. You can stay there in the Bakiyo valley, which is north of the capital. There's plenty of hunting grounds for your entire pack, and there aren't any of the Mahitojo clan members living in the valley, so you'll be at ease."

Lead wolf: "Th... Thank you, my lord, but that's an offer I can't accept. We'll never be able to pay you back for it."

Akira: "There's no need to. Kuro is more than happy to be of any help to you. You can stay there until we have conquered back your lands."

Lead wolf: "I don't know how to thank you for your help."

Akira: "Hey, it's the least I can do. And I'm glad when I can help my people."

Lead wolf: "To us, you will always remain our lord, no matter what has happened."

Akira: "Raton, you have wings right ?"

Raton: "Yep, sure do. Haven't used them in a while though."

Akira: "Could you lead the pack to the Bakiyo valley. With your wings you'll be able to get there and back fast."

Raton: "Okidoki, pretty boy."

*Our rebellious Elite fighter lights a cigarette. He takes a deep puff and makes a rather funny looking shaky move with his shoulders. A flutter of dark terra red feathers fills the sky as Raton unfolds his mighty wings, their wingspread reaching a dazzling nearly 3 and a half meters.
The wolves give Akira a last greet to thank him, and follow Raton, who has already taken off*

Longshot: *sarcastic* "Ok, now that Akira has FINALLY done his charity, maybe we can head on."

Harpy: "Hey, wait a minute ! What about us ?!"

*Akira, who had already left, turns around his head towards the group of harpies, still having that grin-like smile on his face*

Akira: "Well, you can stay here of course, ladies. You said you still have some prey left, and that you wouldn't leave your grounds so you could protect them from scum like us trespassing. So I don't see any need why we should help you as well."

Harpy: "You insolent ... How dare you !"

*One of the harpies is about to attack Akira with her claws when she finds herself blocked by a wall of roots that come shooting up from the ground*

Archior: "Oh no, I wouldn't do that if I were you."

*Our group continues their journey, leaving behind some seriously pissed-off harpies*

Harpy: "We'll get ya for this, you hear me ! We'll get ya !"

Kuro: "And how do you plan on defeating me when you won't even show your face ?!"

? voice: "My my, so it's true that you always have to act so ...
Let's say that I don't have to get my own hands stained with your dirty blood. My dear zombie trees will do the job for me."

Cody: "Zombie trees ?!" *pulls wide eyes*

*The group is indeed suddenly in front of five creatures that look like those kind of trees you always see in Halloween stories. They're not all that big, but they do look dangerous enough to Kuro*

Kuro: "Oriya, stay back and protect the others with a barrier. I don't think I'll have another option but to fight these things."

Oriya: "You don't plan on facing them all on your own ?!"

Kuro: "It's me who they want, so it's me they'll get. Besides, if I'm the only one of us moving around, we have a larger chance of not waking up those tentacle plants."

Cody: "You can't take on ..."

Kuro: "You haven't seen me in action yet, Codez" [now where the heck did Kuro get out that nickname ?!]

Cody: "Maybe so, but my dad says they are very dangerous*

Oriya: "Kuro, please let ..." *worried*

Kuro: "Please Oriya, I need you to protect the group in case those plants do wake up."

? voice: "Awww, now isn't that cute. He doesn't want his lover to get hurt. How ..."

Kuro: "Oh cut the crap and just get started with whatever it is you plan on doing."

? voice: "How rude !"

*As already proven in the past, Kuro sometimes should better keep that big mouth of him shut. All 5 of the zombie trees surround him in a flash. Cody was right, they are dangerous, seen the speed they move.
Oriya really has to do a lot of effort not to go help Kuro, but he keeps his promise and puts up a protection barrier around himslef and the others.
Kuro unclenches his black claws. It's the first time the others see them unclenched completely, and notice how big they actually are. Kuro is going to need them, fighting enemies that are made entirely out of hard wood*

? voice: "This is going to be interesting ..."

laurent ..:: Kuro ::..

Oriya: "Believe me Lillith, I'd rather be there fighting next to Kuro, instead of having to wait here in second line. But I understand his tactic. And to be honest, I have a bad chill feeling running up my spine that tells me it'll be a good thing for us to stay back for now."

Lillith: "Geesh, way to wreck the fun, pretty boy."

*Lillith's words aren't cold yet, or a loud bang and vibration fill the surroundings. The bang came from one of the zombie trees getting smacked to the ground by Kuro*

Kuro: "Guess I'm gonna have sore knuckles tomorrow."

*Two other trees attack. Their clawy hands swing for Kuro's mid-body. Kuro however manages to stop them by using the full weight of his long tail as a counter. He raps it around one of the trees' arms, takes a little leap, and slashes it off with his claws. The sharp scream of the tree however is hurting his sharp hearing, and forces our demon to stop his attack and back off*

? voice: "My my, you sure have very sensitive ears, my dear Kuro. I'll keep that in mind."

Lillith: "SEE ! That's why we should help. Our ears may not be as fancy as that 'fluff decoration' of yours, but at least we don't get backed down by a couple of screaming trees."

Eagleye: "Can't Kuro just turn into his human form ?"

Lillith: "Shut up, Eagleye ! You're ruining my chance to ..."

Oriya: "That's not an option. If Kuro turns into his human form, his powers will get weaker, and he won't be able to use his claws, fangs and tail as a weapon anymore."

*Kuro has meanwhile continued his fight. Two of the 5 zombie trees have already been taken down. Number 3 however isn't planning on getting beaten so easily. Some sort of roots start to grow from its back. Kuro manages to jump up into a normal tree just in time to avoid a high speed surprise attack. The tip of his tail got hit though by one of the roots. Luckily, it's just a mere scratch*

Kuro: "Pfff, that was close."

? voice: "Impressive jump, my dear Kuro. But will you manage to avoid the roots of all 3 of my zombie trees ?"

Kuro: "What the ...?!" *pulls wide eyes*

*The other 2 zombie trees grow roots from their back too, and in no time they rush towards Kuro. The young demon gets back on the ground again. A second wave of roots is storming his way. Taking backwards leaps, he manages to dodge most of the roots, but he can't avoid getting scratched every now and then. Suddenly, Kuro bangs into something blocking him from behind. To his big surprise, it's one of the 3 zombie trees. Somehow it has managed to move behind him without he noticed it. Its branch arms are tightly gripping Kuro by the hands, immobilising him. Only seconds later, he gets hit by the roots he was trying to avoid. Two of them strike him in the stomach and right hip*

Kuro: "Uaaarggh !"

Oriya: "Kuro !"

? voice: "Hahahahaha, bull's eye."

*A second charge of roots is heading his way quickly. This time, it looks as if they're going to strike his chest. Only a fraction of a second before they are about to hit him, Kuro uses all his strength to break off the tree's arms that were holding him. Before they cracked off completely, he used the branch arms as an aid to swing his entire body upward, and launch himself up in the sky. This time, he keeps his ears covered, as the tree that was holding him gets pierced by the roots of its own co-fighters and utters a loud scream.
However, the roots are as quickly withdrawn from the tree's corpse as they pierced it. And before Kuro can realize it, one of them has him grabbed by the leg and pulls him down, making the demon crash into the ground*

Lillith: "That's it, he's screwing up, I'm getting into action !"

*Lillith finds herself stopped by Oriya's tail, which is wrapped around her left arm*

Lillith: "Let go of me, or I'll break that tail of yours !"

Vexx: "Good luck. Breaking a demon's tail is like ... waiting for pigs to fly. You'll never manage to break the most tough part of a demon."

Lillith: "Kgggg !"

Vexx: "Here ..." *Grabs Cody by the ear, and drags him in front of Lillith* "... Have some fun molesting the kid." *playfully grins*

Cody: "Eh, what ?!" *completely stunned*

? voice: "Well, my dear Kuro, looks like you're no match for my beloved minions."

Kuro: "Tsss, in your dreams."

? voice: *surprised* "What ?!"

*All the crash looks to have done with Kuro, is make his clothes dirty and ripped. As for the rest, he seems fine. He's back on feet, firmly, and his wounds are already healing fast.*

Kuro: *spits out a gob of blood, grinningly* "I'm just getting warmed up."

Christmas greetings from a demon (and there's a little spoiler hidden)

Eagleye: "How nice of you to invite us for some gluhwein."

Chronos: "We appreciate it indeed."

Archior: "My pleasure. After all, we did fight and live together for a long time. It's a nice way to see everybody again."

Eagleye: "Yep, couldn't agree more." *takes a sip of her gluhwein* "Too bad though Kuro and Oriya couldn't come."

Archior: "Ah, that's right ! I got a card from them this morning. Haven't had the time to open it yet."

*Archior goes get the card and carefully opens the envelope with one of his sharp nails*

Eagleye: "C'mon, what are they saying." *all hyped up*

Archior:

Hey there bro,

We're having a great time here. The weather is super. In a way, it feels a bit strange celebrating Christmas when it's 35 degrees outside :)
There's been a little moment of panic when Oriya had lost his ring while swimming. Luckily, after a couple of hours searching on the beach, we found it. Next to that, nothing extremely special happened. We're just enjoying our private time together to the max. I'll give you a detailed 'review' when we get back, heheh.

Too bad though we have to miss your awesome Christmas party. I'm sure you and the rest are having tons of fun, and booze XD Be sure to give everybody a big hug from us.

Archior: "Wait, wait ! There's more."

Chronos: "Ok everybody, we're about to enter the forest. Remember what we agreed, and let's hope we'll get to the other side in one piece."

Luke: "I wonder how Kuro-sama and the others are doing."

Archior: "They must have already entered the forest. It's been a couple of hours since I've been able to connect with Kuro. The malicious aura of this forest must be blocking our connection."

Akira: "Let's hope that's the reason ..." *worried expression on his face*

? voice: "My my, you're tougher than I thought."

Kuro: "Glad to be able to surprise you" *sarcastic*

? voice: "Oooh, but you're not the only one who's able to surprise people you know, my dear demonic friend."

*Kuro and the others, who are still safely behind Oriya's protection field, pull wide surprised eyes, when the zombie trees our emerald haired demon had already taken down rise up again, putting back themselves the limbs they had lost during battle*

? voice: "Surprised ?! You surely didn't think you can defeat my beloved minions so easily."

Kuro: "Kggg..."

*Having just witnessed this bizarre spectacle, Kuro is aware that the zombie trees will be able to regenerate again if he just slashes off some limbs as he had done until now. He realizes that at this rate, the fight will take too long for Oriya to be able to keep his protection barrier active, which could mean that the others will be in danger if that happens. That's why the young demon decides not to attack strategically this time, but plans on using his high speed abilities. He spreads out his claws at maximum, and in a flash he disappears*

Cody: "Ah ! Where did he go ?!"

*Cody hasn't finished his last word, or Kuro already appears a couple of meters passed the zombie trees. The latter stand there as if frozen stiff. Slowly, a soft cracking sound echoes, followed by sharp icy screams as the trees suddenly splatter to mere scrub*

Eagleye: "YEAH ! Way to go, Kuro !"

Oriya: "It's not over yet."

Eagleye: "Eh ?!" *notices the sweatdrop running down Oriya's worried face*
